what's better? drunk, tweaked, or normal while mixing?

I'm pretty sure I mix better while I'm drinking....especially beers...my sets seem to get better towards the end after I have a few beers in me, as long as I don't get tired....but I've had some good sets after I drink 3 or so cups of tea.....sometimes I get TOO fidgety though.....do you guys just drink water or nothing, or do you mix better with alchohol or caffiene?

buzzed, after about 2-3 beers I start....then I slowly sip on another few brews while spinnin.

3-5 beers and i'm at my best, but after that its all down hill. i can mix ok after a couple cups of coffee or tea but too much caffiene is no good.

I'm best when I mix sober...I can do alright 2-3 deep but if I smoke a blunt I'm at my worst lol

I like to spin after afew beers, it relaxes me and makes me pumped at the same time.

Yea after a tad of alchohol to loosen me up it's a lot easier to get in a nice groove.

Mixing high I don't like, I get to into technicalities and not enough into the music heh.

It seems myself and also Antron Vee can mix fucking amazingly spot on after a few drinks, but once you pass that point the trainwrecks just start coming. And we still don't know where that point is exactly

i like to smoke a joint and have a few beers to loosen things up
i just get right into it and have a blast

I get too into the music and just space out forgeting that i'm spining Never tried when i've had a few drinks but right now i'd rather be sober and spining

lol.... i feel the same way. cannot blaze when mixing otherwise the trainwrecks keep coming. everything just sounds muddy

After drinking coffee or tea, I'm really nervous and I start making transitions too fast but after 3 to 5 beers, I'm on my best
After that, I sometimes push the wrong buttons like the STOP button of my turntable

I can usually do pretty well if I really know my records. What I find when I have drank a few too many, is that I will go back into the core of my collection, because I will most likely not make a clean transition with newer records in the box.

heh to be honest in 4 years of djing ive never tried the old drinking before you gig thing so i usually had water all night, but ffs dont drink pints of it, i must of ran to the toilets about 7 times during 4 hours sets , which is not good for a whole dancefloor wondering where the hell you fuck off to all the time. It was an old habit though so found it hard to resist.

I wanted to have a couple of pints b4 or during sets but i always thought the bar staff would think i was unprofessional or whatever in the last place i spun so i stayed off it. I'll give it a whirl most probably. I always feel pumped anyway after a few when im out socialising.

Off topic do any of you guys feel like bangin out a set in your house when you've come back from a night of clubbing? more so if the dj was shite

Always.. I always get inspired and pumped up and mix great sets after a great night of clubbing.

sober . . . whenever I get drunk while mixing, I think I'm awesome, but in reality its really sloppy, I never pick up the details and compensate for them

You gotta figure DJing and partying go hand-in-hand...so it's good to be able to spin well when you're messed up. You show your true worth as a DJ when you're able to spin all messed up I think

Long as im not stoned im gtg..... Mixing is the easy part even went drunk..... Its picking up the wrong needle or pressing the wrong cue button or something like that that fucks me...

i prefer to mix sober...
maybe some coffee and sugar i my system that's all
