Live mix the other night from TAW

saved it afterwards & slapped it on there

finishes abruptly but i was V tired as it was well gone past midnight

tracklistin should be on TAW

Feedback would be good, whether positive or negative

Wow, good lord, I'm pretty envious. I'm 18 also, and I have some DJ gear, but nothing like an Allen & Heath; which one do you have? Anyhow, I'll download and post a better reply, but it'll take some time, since I've only got a 56k. Sorry.

Heard the set on TAW, great job Sarah.

Wow! A Xone 92! I was expecting something like a Xone 32 or at most a Xone 62. The Xone 92 costs about $1600 here in the U.S., which I guess would be about 900 pounds, right? God, that's amazing! Congrats. Awww, to be an up and coming DJ in England. Hmmph. I guess the one thing going for me in the U.S. is that at least maybe there are fewer trance DJs (I hope)!

Every time I hear your set it only gets better and better. Keep up the good work. Cheers...

the quality of the mix is a bit stiff
for those who have low bandwidth. you
should encode it in 128kbit so that
people with low bandwidth could listen
to it too. comments about the mix will follow..

I finally managed to download the whole thing, and I must say it's quite good! There are a couple mixovers where the keys seem to clash a little bit, but otherwise I'd have to say that your mixing is very smooth. One thing I noticed is that when mixing over from one song to the next you seem to rely a fair amount on moments where there's a whoosh or a similar sort of sound effect. It sounds fine to me, but you might want to vary up how you mix. For the most part though, the beat matching and eq work are very clean. Quality stuff.

errrrrrr ? aint gotta clue what ur on about?

Posted by Nige| on Mar-10-2004 16:17:

i think what hes saying is ya mixing at key points, either on a 16 or 32 beat .. at that point in the tune sommit normally happens, key change, symbol clash or sommit... nothing wrong in mixing on those events, thats how ya meant to mix actually.

Posted by jwear2004 on Mar-11-2004 07:22:

What I meant is that you might want to not just mix from an outro where the elements are stripped away one by one. I guess you could get a little tribal, and just mix from where it's purely drums to another song that starts off with just drums. Alternately, you could mix from a breakdown in the middle of a song or something. Of course, I guess it's all relative, and your mix is very smooth and sounds great as it is, so you probably shouldn't bother listening to me.
