Avalon vs. Crobar
Which club is better, Avalon or Crobar?
Some friends of mine are coming to visit next Friday and we're all trance/progressive house fans. Our options are Cedric Gervais at Crobar or Max Graham at Avalon.
I LOVE Crobar... The lights, sounds, and effects are AMAZING! The crowd is above par too. I haven't been to Avalon yet and can't seem to find any pictures online.
Which event or club would you guys recommend? Or, do any of you have pics of Avalon that you'd like to share?

the crowd at both clubs is rather trendy... more soo at crobar . But Crobar is by far the superior club....
Niether of the dj you mentioned are playing at either club.... And if you into progressive house. Well the choice is obvious.

Crobar without a doubt...the bird behind the bar is amazing......when the bar closes she dances on the fuckin thing...yeah crofuckingbar....i wanna marry her....

I would take your friends to arc and see dt, not many more chances.....avalon sucks in my opinion

Crobar is a better venue. Its much larger. But Avalon gets better DJs.

Tough choices
Avalon and Crobar and both great venues with excellent sound systems. My choice would breakdown as follows. Do you and your friends like Max more than Cedric? How many friends are coming down?
If you really want to see Max or if you are going with a large crowd, go to Avalon. You won't have to deal with the attitude if you bring your own vibe 
Otherwise, go to Crobar. Technically it is a better club and the crowd is a bit friendlier.
I can't wait till Destination starts throwing their parties in Spirit! This is a venue in need of better dj's

Nice to see a fellow canuck! My friends are visiting me from my hometown, Toronto. We're used to the Guvernment, so we generally like good sound, scale, and dj's of course. I ended up getting some tix for Max Graham anyways... I just have to figure out if we're going to Crobar before or after Avalon.

Dude! you shoulda told me you're from Toronto! here are my thoughts about NYC clubs:
Crobar = Guvernment
Roxy = Koolhaus
Arc = System Soundbar
Avalon = Lotus/Pulse/Seven
Centro-Fly = Boa
I hope this makes sense 
Are you going to Sasha/Digweed at Crobar this Friday? I'm headed to TO on Saturday to see Digweed at Koolhaus.

The club comparison was EXACTLY what I needed!
I have tix for Sasha+Digweed for this Friday. But, I don't think I can make it since I have some non-clubbing friends visiting me that night. I bought the tix in a drunken haze during Steve Lawler last week. So, I probably will be at the club trying to get rid of the tix and missing out on two of my fave dj's (whom I've never seen). Sigh!
Question: Would you recommend I go to Crobar before or after Avalon on Mar. 19?
