American drum n bass dj dissing trance

ok i found this interwiev on drum n bass arena with Juju and he says :

Juju: As for the scene its still and possibly will always be small due to the radio format here. Radio in the US is pretty much sh*t! So due to that you don't have the regular people coming across different music. I dont just mean D&B. Anything that is not hip hop, r&b, country or rock is just not happening on the radio. Also this is a trance nation as well and trance to me is the lowest common denominator of music. UK cats have pirate radio which to me has shaped the music scenes there. Youre so f**king lucky!!! The US has such control over radio that if u get caught running a pirate station you do hard time. Some serious bullsh*t happening here. [Ai..now I am depressed... fak].

You should not care what other people think. Listen to what you like. This will only spark a 60 page flame war.

Who gives a shit?

Posted by Cobalt on Mar-07-2004 17:33:

Someone who likes a particular form of music will also be interested in maintaining the health of that music. So the complaints of the DJ regarding the accessibility of drum n' bass are valid. However a one-line complaint of trance doesn't really qualify as "dissing trance," or for posting in the forum.

Healthy discussion is not a bad thing; far from it. The only people responsible for flame wars are a) people who resort to insult rather than reason in attempt to prove their point, and b) people who refuse to admit they are wrong. Productive debate does come out of some of these threads, but I get frustrated at people who don't understand how to.

Posted by wwu.punisher on Mar-07-2004 19:57:

Seriously. Someone close this thread before we have another massive flame war on our hands.

JUJU is not bad, i've seen him spin a couple of times. Nothing out of the extraordinary though. He's just another narrow-minded elitist junglist, nothing surprising there....

he can still fuck off though, as UK is the home of drum n bass.

right now uk is the home of pop and music that nobody really likes.

It's not an opinion, my friend, it's a fact. America in general isn't a place where many listen to EDM. And the ones that do are on here.

Juju is actually a great dj and producer, imo more talented than all of those you mention, but that doesn't have anything to do with his arrogance and ignorance.

If you wanna know what he's all about download this set, some craaazy mixing and scratching. it's Cartel, JUJU with DJ Craze(definitely one of the most skilled djs in the world):

Good stuff, but i still hate it when electronic music artists bash other forms of EDM.

Posted by hardstyle on Mar-08-2004 08:52:

Smiling Frog Ok

Ok i wanna ask him that : " If trance doesnt have so much creativity then why theres so many drum n bass producer who using trance in they production ?

I bet he thinks Dj Sammy is real trance

Posted by Greedy on Mar-08-2004 15:37:
