Love Poundin' Sensation Thievery Corporation

how can these sounds be so addictingly delicious ? this is the absolute most perfect music. if i was to be drown under 500 lbs of feces, it would be to the sounds of thievery. if i was to be raped by my stepfather and his load happened to be shot into my right eye, it would be to the sounds of thievery. if i was to be dropped 100 ft. from a building, with the bungee around my left boob, i would fall to the music of thievery. it just makes everything OK. thanks for listening to my rant !

Yeah Thievery Corporation makes some amazing downtempo, there old cd Sounds From The Thievery Hi-Fi is incredible with 2001 Spliff Odyssey being my favorite on that cd.

I've only heard Richest Man In Babylon but I really like it. Un Simple Histoire is great!

Some of the best chill music out there. I really like their "Abductions & Reconstructions" cd.

Posted by torontotrance on Mar-08-2004 02:43:

actually it's not chillout

it's downtempo and bossanova and lounge!

really that's why they took that name, after a club where ppl wear suits to hear that stuff.

They had some great stuff till they went boring in 2001.

Agreed...I stopped listening to them after then. I used to listen to their stuff on late-night radio here in DC 'cause they are from DC and have a lounge/label here.

Posted by torontotrance on Mar-08-2004 02:47:

They were geniuses but I dunno what the heck happened. I loved Richest Man in Babylon...hehehe.

Please listen..if Thievery Corp plays live near you...go and see them

But if they are playing a "DJ Set", stay FAR FAR away...they are horrible. they don't even beatmatch or mix...they just play a track, and at the end, move the slider to the next...it's horrible. horrible horrible horrible. They played two nights in a row here in SF last October (or so), and both nights the packed place (1000 people) started clearing out bigtime within an hour...I was there the first night, and it was the worst mixing I have ever heard. Awesome tracks, but when there's no flow how the hell can you dance to it.

They are awesome live, shitty when DJing (I wouldn't even call it DJing)

firstly: Swayzak has nothing to so with K+D

secondly: I do not think K+D are doing much any more... I know Richard Dorfmiester went off solo for some time doing shitloads of remixes that all pretty much kicked ass. That seems evidence enough thay they don't make much music together.

thirdly, with respect to that quote: I'm confused. Now am I your soulmate because I know about downbeat or because of Scott Weiland? And where did you gather Scott Weiland anyways? Yeah I'm a fan... at least of STP, but I don't recall saying that... are you reading my mind?

peace.

wow.. what a disappointment ! it would seem almost illegal to leave a thievery concert. but who i am kidding ? Missouri has never been disappointed by artists, b/c no talent artists have been here well.. sasha and digweed, but that was before i got into the genre.. and now that i think about it, It would have been the time of my life, because no artists EVER come here. I always see TIESTO HOLDEN PAUL VAN DYK in everyone sigs and the date they are attending, as if its nothing... its sooooooo depressing.
