Question Ringing ears

I went to go see Armin saturday; and right from the start my ears were hurting then it got better ( I wasn't feeling it anymore )....

The place was rather loud and idiot me spent the whole time in front of the main speakers...

It's tuesday morning and my ears are still ringing I'm very worried .

I go out all the time and usually don't have this happening to me.

I should have known better because the place were armin played always hurts my ears and I forgot my ear plugs in the car

Should I start being worried?

I know this sounds lame to most of you maybe but I really feel like my hearing has changed

My ears almost rang for a whole week once and i was starting to get worried, however it got better then (i actualy think my hearing has improved )

But i made a mental not to never dance the whole night infront of the main speakers at a hard techno party again

When I went to see Chemical Bros mine were ringing for like 3 days or so. I think its "normal" as in I dont think you should be too worried. If it lasts more than a week i'd get it checked out.

lol loconet thanks that made my day a little better...

I been sick for about a week and grrr this is starting to piss me off.... on top of that I'm going to New york this weekend to see jimmy van m, digweed, sasha and james holden... I need to be in shape

my ears rang solidly for an entire week once after delta heavy 1 (which was probably the loudest gig, I ever went to). Since then, I bring earplugs all the time (don't wear them the entire time but most of the time). I'll save my fucking ears for another 80 yrs, I view losing my hearing as HORRIBLE!...think you can't listen to trance if you lose your hearing.

Next time bring ear plugs Your ears will still ring, but not for so long

i've had chronic ear infections for the past three years, and every time i go to a show my ears ring the next day.

the reason you have ringing, is Tinnitus. medical term for ringing ears. theres no exact cause, but most of the time it's just your cochlea in your inner ear has thousands of little hairs that have an electrical charge. when the hairs vibrate from the sounds they pick up they send signals to your brain, determining the sounds you hear in your head.

at a loud concert, those hairs start to bend and get in that position from all the loud noises you experience. after a concert those hairs are still bent and recovering from their audio experience, thats where you hear the ringing because the hairs in your ear are vibrating to remake shape.

Usually after awhile, (like when ur old age) those hairs get permanantly bent and thats when you start getting hearing loss.

ear ringing is usually temporary, but if it's chronic see your doctor.

I never goto clubs without wearing earplugs. Tinnitus is a serious problem, and as a DJ/producer, having it would effectivly put an end to your livelyhood. Music is my life, so I value my ears more than anything.
I bought a bulk-pack of like 60 pairs of earplugs at Home Depot. They are basic green foam, and they muddy up the sound at clubs. But I'm willing to endure that to protect my hearing. You can get those specially molded earplugs for like $150+ from an ear specialist. You can still hear everything clearly with those. I hope to get some within a year.

I've had the ringing in my ears so loud that I couldn't hear the cab company on the phone when I was ordering one. It goes away after a while.

You should keep your finger out of there.

Everyone has ringing in their ears to some extent, being a drummer I've read a couple of articles on tinnitus. Go into the bathroom or something and listen for it, you should be able to hear it. It will drop slowly back down to this back ground level sometimes. The moulded ear plugs are totaly great, even non muddy frequency response, just down quite a few dB (The amount depends on which version you buy) Get some but as previously mentioned they are expensive so don't lose them!

Chronicness of it means Tinnitus... I have it. It aint fun. There are times when the ringing is unbearable. For example, one night, it felt like there was an orchestra of bells playing in my head. Wear earplugs, and you'll thank yourself. I tend to listen to music rather loudly, and it's had it's concequences . If your a DJ/Producer, wear some fucking earplugs at clubs! I listen to my CD player at full blast, no headphones, and the ringing comes all the time unless I'm listening to some trance or something. Very rarely do I experience silence. For me it, it comes in the form of a continuous high pitched noise most of the time... not sure what it's like for you, but protect your god damn ears!

Ahaha I thought you were responding to your own message at first.

On topic: If you're sick, don't allow your ears to experience high air compressions (aka high decibel levels). Bad stuff happens. Ok well not for all sicknesses, but for those that are affecting your sinuses (believe it's your sinuses anyways). My science teacher in HS went on a plane trip when she had a cold, and her eardrum popped. As in blood flowing out of them. She was completely deaf for about 6 months, but then her hearing started to come back, although admittedly it sucks now. Don't know if it's common for your hearing to return or not after something like that, but she was probably lucky to get any hearing back at all.

This concerns me, because I have a lot of allergies (pollen, mold, dust, the usual) and pretty much have a stuffed up nose and can hock champion loogies on any given day. Then again I've flown on planes like this and have had no problem, been high up in mountains, etc. But I'm still a bit paranoid.

I don't usually get sinus problems in my ears except when I'm really stuffed up which isn't too too often. Should I be worried?

I highly doubt it was her sinuses fault that her eardrums popped. Probably something to do with sensitive ear drums.
