it would appear to me that the young lad is emphasizing his lyrical wizardry to the degree that he would need no counterpart to sing between his verses.

the whole idea of stating that he doesn't need a hook IN the chorus is mind-boggling. why would he do it? it just doesn't make sense!

Well it obviously shows that he doesn't have much of a musical education. Yet he's still considered a "musician".
