Find a local DJ company...Do weddings and shit like that to start, then move to clubs if u r any good.

hmmm, Zing if u already know how to dj, then do a sample cd & arrange to meet club managers and give it to them

a friend of mine did this, going around to clubs and giving his cd away and arranging meetings...now he has resident gigs every week and also invites to others as well

...pity he's into house ...otherwise i'd be over there more often to listen heheehhe!!!

Talking

Let's see Laurent Garnier worked a courier in a catering company that delivered to all of France's Biggest Clubs. Oakie was also a courier in New York that hooked him up with the biggest records companies in NY and then he became a AR man for record companies and was the first person who put Salt'N"pepa on the map. Most other deejays have just dropped mixtapes after mixtapes into promoters. Digweed dropped his tape into Geoff Oakes @ Renaissance. Now Fergie knew TOny De Vit, so he does not count. Get a job that gets you well connected or just keep practicing and practicing. Lisa Lashes worked at marks and spencer and just kept practicing and practicing and dropped a mixtape into a promoter and got a job but still kept her dayjob for a while. Most deejays have just practiced and practiced and then dropped a mixtape into the right people and got heard. Yousef (cream's resident)won a bedroom deejay competition and then James Barton (cream's promoter) gave him a slot in Cream's Backroom and look where he is today. Same with a James Zabiela, he won a bedroom deejay competition and now he is touring with sasha. I know all these examples must amaze people but if you got the right stuff and the real ppl hear it, you will go far.
