Smile MP3 Mixing Program

I would like to recomend for anyone who wishes to mix all there trance and techno mp3s to use the program called AtomMixMP3, It is by far, The best mp3 mixing program I ever scene and used, The interface is very simple and you can be able to beat match and mix all your tracks with ease unlike in VTT, Oh and it suports Winamp DSP plugins and you can be able to shoutcast with it and do your own live mix like the pros.

But it doesnt have a AutoBPM feature, AtomMixMP3 has the sync button that lets you sync the beats of both tracks to be able to mix them purfectly and then using the crossfader to create those transitions.

Traktor has Auto Sync, same thing. I like Traktor, it costs the same if not less also.

Smiley DJ PCDJ

Ive testing all this software, VTT, BPMStudio, Tactile, Traktor, MixVibes, MJStudio, PCDJ, etc. In my opinion PCDJ is the best; it's very really versatile, and the sound never stops, even loading the tracklisting or configuring the interface, besides the pitch step can be adapted untill 1 percent per step, it has almost every function on shortcuts, tag edition function toghether with bpm counting with autosync, and can separate the audio signal for live mixing, it plays wav's an mp3's, and other features that I can't remember -it's not a comercial- .

I'll probe Atomixmp3, thx TigerClaw.

i use traktor, and i LOVE it, but the autosync feature doesn't work that good..... the beats still go off every once in awhile, so you have to hold the damn SYNC button down while you do a transition - its so hard that i could never do a mix myself........ grrrrrr!

anyone else have this problem? (if you leave it on autosync the beats still don't match...)

I would prolly buy PCDJ if it didn't cost $200.

Solarisse Rhey no podemos compartir?

I just got this program called mixmeister (avaiable at mixmeister.com)...its awesome. It's not VTT's but the songs are in a layout and you program the mixes. It's pretty complicated and takes forever to do a 70minute or so mix of songs but its good if VTT's frustrate you and you have the time.

I use mixmeister for my mixes and i can make really descent ones...i will upload one soon for TA:s to critisise ....well well thereis one big major problem with mixmeister and that is that it never calculates the BPM correct.....it always calculates somwhere between -2 and +2 from the BPM you have choosen....so then you have to listen and figure out how much it calculated wrong and the correct it.....You out more feeling into your mix this way but its alotof work

I have Atomixmp3, Mixvibes Pro, and PCDJ Silver.
I use mostly PCDJ. it's just easy to use for me.
Mixvibes Pro is great too. but not as easy to use as PCDJ.
AtomixMP3 is really awsome!!!! it's just like 2 winamps and a crossfader!!! I like the BPM functions too.... it helps me mix alot.
maybe I'll start using it in my sets... (yes, I use a computer in my DJ sets....)

Smiley DJ who's down wit da VTT?

It may be personal preference, but nothing beats mixing by ear, and VTT is the best program to do that. Everything else (tracklisting, mp3 organizers, AutoBPM, autosync, auto-look-mom-ima-dj!!) is just fluff to me.

I won't be a dick about this though... some aren't serious about real DJing, and/or they just want to make quick mix compilations- so I wont argue with them. (something any music lover would wanna do, without banging thier heads at the technical aspect)

But if you are an aspiring Dj who wants to get real equipment sooner or later, I seriously reccomend VTT as your practice tool. It's the closest you'll get to 'real' DJing on a PC because you rely on your ears, and not a lame BPM detection algorithm (which aren't always accurate either.)

Hmmm maybe thats the prog for me...cause the funny thing with mixmeister is that it has this auto BPM calculator.....but since it always calculates wrong.....i still have to go by ear and listen if the track goes to fast or to slow....lol......

heh
then that is a very lame proggie!

Worm Popper VTT : Best mixing program!!

I totally agree with goodnet in this issue. VTT is by far the closes dj'ing program when it comes to djing. Most people rely on BPM counters which are not always accurate, but i think your only cheating yourself. If u want to do quick mixs then maybe ok...but then again your transitions might not sound as nice.

I've been using VTT for 3 years now and i have made professional sounding mixes. It just takes practice and practice to learn the jog dial and training your ears to beat match.

Cool stuff you guys had though me, i only use atomix and i though it was perfect, so many programs out there, can any1 arrange a list, of all of them and the site to donwload ?
thanks.

Talking

comment about headphone setups

In vtt u can have a real turntable setup with headphone monitoring, there are different options...but i prefer using two soundcards.
I dont know about other mixing programs, but im pretty sure there setups are the same.

slap in an external mixer and your good to go!

Mixvibes pro is the way to go!

Look, I know everyone claims that their program is the best,, la la and la la. My suggestion would be for you to try some out by downloading their free demos. I personally use and like mixvibes pro 3.0 and above. I have used tracktor, vtt, bpm studio, and many others. One thing that you should want from an mp3 mixer should be responsiveness,,, and make sure that it reacts precise as opposed to choppy. I have learned to mix very well with the program that I use, expect that to be the same case with you. Eventually, you should learn to master that program with enough practice. I have noticed that each program has its advantages and disadvantages. For instance, vtt has that great feature where you only need a 2 dollar adapter and one sound card to properly mix,,, but you will only hear everything in mono. Some of the disadvantages with vtt are the amount of mixers (only two), and the lack of reaction time when hitting the mouse. Some people gave mixvibes low ratings, because it's sometimes intimidating design and features. I don't care,,, it just takes a little time to learn the program, and in the end it pays off.

VTT -- use only if you have one sound card -- even if you have only one, I dont recommend that program. I personally think it sucks compared to others.

Tracktor -- Just seems and feels like cheese. I can't put my finger on what this program has that I don't like ---- Maybe is the lack of mixers,, no balance control, etc. But just feels unstable and is not as responsive as mixvibes pro. I personally don't think it actually emulates real dual cd decks,, and has too much of a cartoon interface.

BPM studio pro --- Great program,, lots of features, but takes up way too many resources. I have 320mb of sdram w a 750mhz CPU and my machine had problems while I was looping and recording. This program lets mix straight out of your cd player, because it supports .cda format. But it only has a limit of two mixers and no balance control.

Mixvibes pro -- My favorite. It is stable, responsive,, everything is in real-time. You have up to 16 mixers to work with,, supports up to 4 sound cards, Has on the fly 6 cue points per song, bass mid treble controls, scratching, looping, works with sampling programs, lets you sample, works with midi, balance control, auto bpm (which I don't use), Id3 tag editing on mp3s, wave visualization, doesn't take up to many resources, allows you to record and edit your work, allows you to record in wave or mp3 at different bit rates and it will let you create a cue sheet for your mix. Has different skins in case you don't like the current one. This program is definetely the most realistic that I have used. Don't take my word for it, check it out for yourself.
