Shame that no one has even bothered to reply from like 30 views :\

I will download it tommorrow from work and give it a listen! Looks really techy... I think I'm gonna like it. A good change from all the uplifting garbage

how good is this track. such a cruisy song for a friday afternoon.

Have had a quick listen.

The first track is hideous. Mixing sounds good so far. Fuck you must have ordered Under The Sun quickly. Awesome track. Track 3 seems a bit too much for that stage of the mix. Should have a built it a bit more. Track 5 is also too much after emotions in motion. I don't like how you keep darting around techy/banging to melodic and uplifting and back again. I'm only listening through winamp but truly into no return sounds yucky. Not out of time but out of key or something. From there the rest of the mix is good and I really enjoyed it. Track 10 fucking canes.

Its a decent mix just need to look at your tune selection imo. Prob better off doing a dedicated tech mix and a dedicated melodic mix rather than trying to kill two birds with one stone.

thanks for your feedback, its good criticism. not much planing went into the set, i was just lucky i was recording at the time..

i actually think the vocals of truly bring in solar factor pretty well

i know what you mean about number 3 being after under the sun..

maybe should've swapped emotions in motion for it..

edited tracklist, maybe -

Not everyone is Picotto (actually there is only ONE Picotto [who dj's ] AFAIK). Most people have to program their sets, so they flow like a book. You don't have a climax before an introduction, you work towards something.

Nice mix, dun listen to others just keep mixing the way u want to.

Posted by michaeldenna on Mar-14-2004 22:16:

just downloaded it last night. i like the mix up of tracks. just something different. i don't know hwy everyone wants a journey when it comes to a set anyway. i know a lot of djs start of with melodic, soft progressive sounds and move to the more bass driven, banging tracks but why not mix it up.\

edit: also how come its recorded in 160kp?

Bingo! Your the man.

Everyones coping everyone else. Music should be expressed the way you want it and who ever said there is a right way to DJ? I tell you who... only those who are really "cool" and bash artists/djs on these boards. "His shit coz he did that... and I would of done that bla bla bla!"

You just do your own thing man, and mix how you feel like mixing it. Your mix is actually quite good coz instead of just building like 90% of other djs you do waves of enegry, which kinda keeps me intersted and if I didn't know the tracklist I would of enjoyed it about 10 times more.

Where everyone copies eachother and mixes from progressive trance to uplifting/soft trance to banging trance to tech trance, you kinda mix like Picotto/Tiesto and do waves of enegry which would keep the floor very intrested.

I think the Australian saying is: "Think outside the box you live in!"

isn't that ikea, hence swedish?

yeah go for it soupsy dude, just do whatever rocks your boat... yeah sure, take people on a journey but i always find my best journeys are the ones where i am pleasantly surprised.
