Meeting Dutch Trance Buddies!!

hey guys,


I'm going to be living in Leiden until mid-June, and possibly even until the end of August. I'm studying at Leiden University. So far, it's been great. I went to Trance Energy this year and it was beyond words. Keeping in mind that the trance scene in Los Angeles SUCKS, it's really great to be here in holland. I'm staying in an international house right now, so meeting dutch students has been rather difficult. I joined a Dutch student organization called Augustinus and I'm taking Dutch classes, so the effort is definitely there.
It's been a quest meeting other trance fans as well. So I figured it would be a good idea to see who I can meet out here to break into the trance scene. I'm looking forward to going to see Carl Cox on the 3rd of April, and possibly even Teqnology this month. Can't wait til the Pleasuredome either... lots of plans, just looking to make friends with people that are as enthusiastic about the music as I am... My favorite dj's include Marco V, Matt Darey, Scott Bond, Matt Hardwick, M.I.K.E. (Push), Eddie Halliwell, Lange, Les Hemstock, Lange, Dumonde... that's all off the top of my head. Ok so only one of those DJ's is Dutch, but Holland kicks everyone else's ass as far as trance goes ...

Leiden is pretty close to the Hague. You got 2 good clubs there: the Asta (27st of march there is Ferry Corsten) and the Paard van Troje (20st of March you got Sander Kleinenberg & Deep dish). Maybe thats a good choice? I will be at the latter
Btw, the 27th of march there is also ArisE, its a trance party in Breda. Some TA-dj's spin there. Maybe thats an idea? A lot of NLTA's are going there. Maybe you can join us?
We're travelling by car from the Hague. If you ask Eieregooie nicely , maybe you can join

would recommend going to the party in breda, lotsa dutch TA will be there, would be an easy way of meeting a lot

Its not difficult meeting Dutch people. At least, thats what i think. Its the attitude you got yourself, depends on how 'open' you are!

Are you going to party the next couple of weeks Apri? If so, gimme a call / pm. There was a Dutch TA party 2 weeks ago, called Addiction. Where were you???
There is one again on the 27th of march, called Arise. Some TA-djs spin there. Care to join?? Its in Breda. Same day as Ferry Corsten @ the Asta.

i've been here for almost 2 months now
ok maybe meeting dutch people isnt very difficult, its where do you meet them? cant really go up to them and say 'hi im from canada wanna be my friend?'

i dont know, maybe i am going to arise ?? this is the first time i hear about the party. snuggs i WOULD call you if i knew your number

im meeting durexium, @ys, jay, harm, and their friends. should be fun! maybe if people who know them who want to come could also come, just pm me i guess.

I have an exam next Tuesday, so this weekend could be tough, but definitely looking into doing something on the weekend of the 27th...

it *is* hard to meet dutch people... Most of them tend to have friends they've had for years and are willing to hang out at school but not otherwise... Funny enough most of my dutch friends I met either through party forums (hahaha sounds so pathetic) or from partying itself... Which is cool because then you know that they like the same music etc

After a while I had a nice group of friends but in the beginning it was REALLY hard. Especially the winter So depressing

I dont have any friends, just people i know through this forum.

Haha to me it's the other way around. I have "lotsa" friends, and I didn't meet them at some forum.

So, I study in Leiden and there are a lot of foreign students here. Here at the faculty of mathematics, there are foreign computer science students which are all chinese and they stick together so no Dutch people want to get in contact with them. (I'd rather not contact anybody around here cause there are a lot of weirdo's around)

But outside that I don't get to meet many foreigners, not even at the students club where DJ Illicit and I come. I did't even know DJIllicit was a member. The point is that Dutch people just don't know or realise that there are foreign people who'd like to meet dutch people. And that's because they don't see them. I can't read from your face whether you're foreign or not. You'll have to tell me.

So foreigners: tell us dutch people you're from far far away. We'll talk, we're interested!

So that's about it for today, says oracle Jay....

yeah, but because we are foreign, we feel intimidated by you dutch people, we feel that you guys dont want to associate with us so naturally we dont approach you. its a viscious circle i tell you :|

i did met quite a few of my good friends back home thru TA, they are all normal people, not pale little nerds hehehe


magrec, i dont know if you wanna call rmf still being alive or not. its more of an information site now with a new name and a new goal. still around i suppose
