Listening AND DJing

ok im going to be DJing alot[not spinning out] and listening alot[out like traveling and riding in a car and such], so what phones do you recommend for both, i have read the STICKY on headphones and cant tell which is a good choice. nead help please? budget is alsot under 125usd excluding tax and shipping

I am not sure, but I would get some nice Senns.

I have the Technics RP-1200 and they are great for DJing and I don't get any discomfort, but when I sit with them at work I find the pressure is really too much and it does not feel good on the ears. FYI, the Technics are supra-aural so they sit on your ear but still do a great job with sound isolation.

i will be like most. Get the hd280s. Great phones that feel good and sound great. I also own rpdj1200s which work fine for dj use but for listening/dj use i perfer the hd280pro.

For the love of god avoid v700 like the plague. Besides the fact that their horrible sound and way overdone bass is made for deaf DJ's, they're flimsy pieces of plastic shit that will break on you. Mine did, and I took the finest care of them.

In this price range they should have a 1/4" plug and come with a 1/8" adaptor. My Technics work by having a 1/8 plug and then the 1/4 adaptor screws into it so it is very secure and will no come off while maintaining a solid connection.

HD280pro??????

what kind of connecting jack does the HD280 pro have, i need to know becuase im ordering it tonight and i dont want to spend 100 dollars on something i cant use for an array of uses

No need to worry Tranceporter. THe HD280 is compatible with boths types of connections. It comes with 1/4th inch adapater that screws onto the i/8th plug for use with mixers.

WHen you first get the phones, they may sound like they lack. However, don't be discouraged. AFter about 100 hours of hearing. The true sound of the phones comes out and damn it sounds good. 500+ hours of usage is supposedly whut it takes to completely "burn in " the HD-280

The hd280s will sound bright at first but give it 40hrs and it will start to sound better. When i got mine i hooked them up to a stereo receiver and played a cd in a continous loop for a week at a loud volume after which the hd-280s sounded very nice w/ a deep detailed range. Like alot of sennheiser headphones the hd280s need a good burn-in for best sound
