I have both and fl is better for producing imo. U can get things done quicker/easier usually and it has a hell of a lot of functions that acid doesnt have.
when it comes down to brass tax.. unless you have hardware, Acid just doesn't cut it becuase it has HORRIBLE VST/DX CPU management.. for example.. one instance of softsynth X will take up 20% of your CPU whereas on better sequencers, it will only take up 10 or even 5%

You mean that "Magix"-program?

The only good thing synonymous with Acid is the remix competitions they run on www.acidplanet.com. It's a great site to check back on every once in a while to get GREAT VOCALS!
Anyone else use Cubase? I love it!

these threads are pointless because niether one is flat out 'better' than the other. if it was we'd all be using it. no questions. plenty of people write amazing tracks on fruity, plenty do on acid, and reason and logic and cubase. ive even heard some amazing music made on freeware trackers (which are confusing as hell if you are used to working in sequencers). they both have different features, different layouts, different ways of essentially achieving the same thing. i tried both fruity and acid and i work almost exclusively in fruity because i find it easier to get things done quickly. it may not have the functionality, it may not have the funky beatslicer that acid has, but i use fruity because i find it a breeze to use, and if you are going to make music it doesnt help to be working in an application whose interface you feel is difficult and resistant. some people find reason easier to use cuz its just like wiring a studio rack. for people who have never wired a studio before they may find it confusing. it all boils down to which application you feel comfortable using. that is the number 1 priority. i used logic for a short period and found it far too confusing for my fruity loop shaped brain.
my advice. try out the demo versions of these sequencers first. if demos arent available try working for a few hours on a PC that has the software on it. the rest is down to personal preference.
