Matt darey and Marcella woods!

Melbourne re-unites in one huge dance party as MAGNITUDE presents MAXIMUS.

Philosophy
Magnitude believes the dance party fraternity is in slight disarray with so many events taking place on the same dates, so MAXIMUS has been created as a significant force for the whole community.
MAXIMUS is a celebration that is non-discrimatory and includes Men & Women, Straight & Gay acknowledging community and culture.

Mission
To create a world-class event that attracts and unites people from all over the world. A gesture of solidarity and unity.

Venue
With 3 levels and the largest dance floor in the southern hemisphere - QBH - is the place to be for MAXIMUS on Easter Saturday night. Stylish plush surroundings, loads of seating, plenty of parking (at Crown) and for your sound and visual entertainment, a World class Production team, AVLE, Oracle Lasers, lighting by Campbell, and Psyklonic visual effects Magic will make this an event to remember for years to come.

Music
The DJ line up aims to bring together the strongest line-up Trance has to offer, and a wicked mixture of the Funkiest Grooviest and Progressive house.

Back by popular demand is DJ/Producer Matt Darey (UK), accompanied by the renowned trance vocalist Diva 'Marcella Woods', (Click on http://www.magnitudeproductions.com.au for a link to Matt's site featuring our favourite tracks sung by Marcella)
Also back by overwhelming demand is New Zealand's Trance Master DJ Sample G alongside Australias finest talents.

The Funky Groove Progressive House room features Melbourne's own Nathan G, Rob Gilbert, kdj, and our newest addition Chris Meehan.

Limited $55 (+BF. incl. GST) Early bird tickets on sale now until sold out. General admission $60 (+Bf incl. GST) until sold out.
More on the door.

Saturday night April 10
QBH - 1 Queensbridge St, South Melbourne

WTF??? how come no one has mentioned this?? anyone know if hes commin to sydney??

Posted by Paulie on Mar-17-2004 23:17:

You got jox made of steel?

...if not i would seriously advise against going to such an event. Although i have no problem and am comfortable in my sexuality, i wouldnt feel comfortable in that environment at all.

ps. Darey aint crash hot dj, just to let you know.

Posted by Solstice on Mar-18-2004 00:21:

i am obviously wayyy out of the loop here. i thought QBH was just a club in melbourne?

Im in sydney anyway,so it doesnt matter either wy

Posted by Psygnosis on Mar-18-2004 11:03:

Bah!!! why isn't Darey and Marcella comin to Syd???

live act from Marcella, sheeeit, thatlll be nice!!!

Its a gay's party, not my sort of thing. Got nothing to do with the venue, but the actual promoters are promoting a predominantly gay nite.

KDJ.................

PHOAR... i remember getting into girlbar to see her when i was only 16 HHAHAHAH i will have to be in attendence to this one

I find it funny that some people will not go out to a night with a decent dj because it is promoted to gay community. I mean I have never felt uncomfortable in gay clubs/pubs or whatever even when I was offered money (serious amount) to go home with some guy.

Just a silly childish attitude. You say no the piss off from my experience. Shit I feel more uncomfortable in clubs that have heaps of drug use going on...

it is rather strange.. trance artist comes out plays at a gay party or whatever & it's like they never came out here... yet we hear all the complaints about muzzas & muppet backpacks & cheesy hard dj's at big events.

... For a substandard dj, i aint gonna put up with the shennanigans that gay parties have. Simple as fkn that. Its a fkn choice, i didnt say dont go, solstice just needed to know the full facts behind the event. If darey was my idol id prolly put up with it, but hes not.

did i say my comments were directed at you? chill, it was a general observation.

dude it's all a matter of personal preference, you may call it "childish" but not everyone is expected to have such an open minded attitude as you have displayed. i have nothing against gay people but i do feel uncomfortable when i'm in such an environment, i try to go out to have fun not to do my head in with my own stupid insecurities... and i aint gay. not that there's anything wrong with it.

Hey it seems Darey might be doing a Australian tour again , so not just melbourne, which is good

Dates TBC

Posted by Joshva on Mar-19-2004 02:11:

Yeh Neal Crawford is definately a gay scene DJ here in Sydney.

soz didnt mean for that message to come out as me being a real kant. I just think theres tolerance to homosexuality and then theres situations where you are uncomfortable in. Also being part of the muzza crew, i prefer muzzas anyday :

Good (if not a little strange)to see Chris Meehan on the bill.

Posted by Dr P on Mar-19-2004 02:34:

man you still sucking up to dj's?

Posted by JulesPLees on Mar-19-2004 02:39:

He wouldnt read this.
He's prolly one of the best young prog DJ's in australia (if somethings good, then I support it )

Posted by Mangler on Mar-19-2004 05:02:

take the r out of prog & it's pog!

... but errm yeah, Meehan is actually better dan dem other guys that Play dat crapola stuff

ahh the good old nipple shirt!

You have to talk to Matt Darey properly, he hasn't got a attitute problem...

I talked to him for ages, the nicest (and coolest ) Djs i've ever met. There are heaps of Djs that are just smartasses i think, Darey ISN'T one of them

My opinion of course

maybe i shudnt judge the guy on his dress sense and women choices, but common anyone can act nice and cool to a random person doesnt mean they actually are, i dont think.
Sometimes u just get that feeling that u know wat a person is like just from watching them imho.
i dont think he is worth paying to see in a dj sense either just because he played a set anyone could play, big highlight was definitely hearing his own tracks but then some1 told me he stole the lyrics and went to court over it i was like ummmm ok wat a dick!

lmao @ pinkhelmets contribution.

I used to think i was the only one that could write a paragraph that would take me 20 reads before i knew what i had written. Reading your paragraphs took me 50 reads. No offence.
