Australia's Dance... seen it before?

Hey all TOTA's, I found this to be a nice treat, and VERY interesting style of dance from our friends Down under.

Link : http://www.xes.cx/download/shuffle220k.zip

I personally like the way they move, as for the name, well you can post your views on the name...

Very interesting... it looks kinda funny. I still like our Kick-step!

Yeah, thats a pretty wicked style, but you need alot of room to dance like that. I think last weekend proved to alot of you that dancing like that in toronto nightclubs is impossible :P

Posted by discitelli on Mar-18-2004 13:25:

hey guys

yeah the Melbourne shuffle is huge here, though its isolated to Melbourne for some reason and not known in other cities, but saying that not many Melbournians can perform it. its very hard!

Posted by loca on Mar-18-2004 14:18:

i the shuffle!
i only wish i could dance like that

Well just learn the dance and let loose at WEMF, or any all ages parties, cause it seems that the 19+ parties, there is just no room to dance, just enough room to bounce to the music. After viewing some videos of parties in Aussie land, the scene doesnt look like its dying there whatsoever...

Yeah man when I really dance the way I like to, I need alot of space (not as much as the shuffle would). I tried to dance by the stairs beside the stage at the Guv and had to stop because I would've ended up stomping on ppl.

I hope your not one of those ppl pour H20 on the ground ... sorry but, I fuckin' hate that shit.

While I'm kick steppin', spining, rotating & shit .... I'm come across an area that is wet, I'll slipp and maybe hurt myself BIG TIME! Honestly, you don't need it at all ... you have more control on your speeed and moves when the ground is dry.

The famous Melbourne shuffle. It used to be big long time ago, I wonder how popular it is now with the all the style changes.

I'm glad I live in South Ontario... we probably have the most number of unique styles and the best looking styles of dancing in the world.

I sawa few kids on the perimeter at the KH on Saturday who were supporting a bit of the Melbourne. I watched one guy for about an hour... his dance looked like the Shuffle on Speed... I couldn't figure out how he was moving his feet so fast.

Man, I would have sat there and watched as well. They move their feet pretty quick and in 3 motions, but they switch it up every so often. I tried doing it, got it a little bit, but I will just stick to what I'm comfortable doing, and thats the kick-step and spinning, with some arm movement as well... Hope to see all TA's @ Decadence!!
