Dj Styles.. Who's Style Is The Most Unique?

I've been thinking about this lately... Every Dj usually has thier own "unique" sound which only they can put out. Not producing so much but Djing in general. There are a ton of dj's out there, but which dj's put out the most unique sounds and why? The dj's that you list do not have to be one of your favirotes.

1st off comes..
Timo Maas:

This mans style is like no other that I have heard. He is not amongst my "favirotes" but I do have to give it to him, he has a sound that no-1 else has. His style is what I describe as "Funky". It's a kind of funky trance, his track selections are alwayz unique. Definitly one of the most unique sounds out there...

Armin van Buuren:

I would describe Armin as a kind of "weird uplifting sound". When you hear a single that has that Armin sound you can definitly point it out. Armin is not amongst my favirotes, but again I do have to give it to him. A great unique sound.

I'd probably have to say its down to 3 major DJ's

Armin van Buuren - His progressive uplifting style is so unique you almost always know its him. I really like the way he's taking his sound.

Digweed - He always is exploring, always probing. In an interview he mentioned that he spends roughly 700-800 pounds a week on vinyl. That's a LOT.

Deep Dish - Their deep progressive sound is pretty unmistakenable.

Most Unique Dj Style goes to Jeff Mills, not many can sound like the man. His raw brutal minimal techno is unique. Timo Maas is unique cause he plays such a unique style. I'd also say Mauro Picotto, ppl try to sound like him but no one does.

id have to say Mauro Picotto and Corvin Dalek cuz both play tracks that are unique to start with and both mix in unique ways where mauro mashes everything up and corvin mixes very strangly too.

i'd have to say:

Mauro Picotto - brings you raw brute techno every set, never lets ya down, and nobody can emulate his style!

Danny Tenaglia - This miracle worker usually works with 4 tables, a beatbox, and a bunch of Roland equip EACH SET! he pulls these sick 8-10 hour sets and does not only mixing with 4 tables, but adds beats and sounds in himself LIVE while doing a set. Granted, i honestly do not "favor" his style, but that is definitely unique and talented! (Tenaglia is one of the few american DJ's that Sasha, Digweed, Cox, and others actually have serious respect for)

Uberzone - Usually operates with 3 tables and 2 Pioneer 700s's, as well as an entire electro-drum set..... sets usually VERY high energy with banging drums as well as spinning (much like safri duo who also get a nomination from me)

Cirrus - This techno group uses several tables, a keyboard, and a bunch of ACTUAL string instruments doing their sets... they bust out the guitar, the viola, drums, etc..... everything! its awesome!

and lastly, but NOT least:

Paul Oakenfold - his actual mixing is not innovative or going to set any world records, but the fact that his style is constantly changing... and will change several times in ONE set - one of very few DJ's i've ever seen that could do this and make it sound right... i've heard almost every genre of electronica as a whole in one of his sets - its amazing.

I agree with many of these... AvB, Acosta, Mauro Picotto, Timo, Digweed, etc., but I would definitely have to add BT and Sander Kleinenberg to that lineup.

Paul van Dyk too , just compare his sets in big events (mayday , innercity , GC SSS etc ...) with his sets @ radio fritz

Producing is the prime way to be unique in DJing, I notice. Every single Dj i've seen posted in this thread has produced tracks in their own style. It makes them stand out from the rest. Hell.. alotta what Mauro plays is his own productions too

Well, since I got to see him spin at Buzz a couple of weeks ago, at his new bar (Shorty's) two nights ago, and then again last night at Origin (previously Fever), I would have to say Charles Feelgood just because he is VERY unique.

paul van dyk-his style is definitely unique... i really dont hear sets that are similar

armin van buuren-always plays the newest, and greatest, songs... and can go from progessive to uplifting and still make a banging set

mauro picotto-never heard a site remotely close to picotto, the master of banging you into the ground

sasha/john digweed-always the newest and greatest progressive... sasha played das glockenspiel back at gatecrasher's millennium nye festival... and it only got big this year

I wouldn't really say that PVD's style is unique. Its his own, but not that much different than, say other German trancers, like Taucher if you think about it. But,

Tom Middleton is probably the most unique, period. Sometimes I like what he does, sometimes I don't, but starting his sets with movie intros, mixing from house to breaks, to jazz all in the same set, has to make me put him as #1 if you're just counting individuality.

Danny Tenaglia is unique also, but fow what I know he's not as much out there. I still am waiting to see him live, since he hasn't been to Chicago in something like 5 years.

Hybrid have to get the most props though, because while they're completely unique, they're always good. They're always pushing the limits on where music is going with their mix of breaks + trance + prog house.

i would say :

1.Mauro Picotto - He spins the most amazing techno, and manages to mix the BXR stuff... and thats impressing, cause ive seen lots of ppl who dont know how to mix other songs with bxr productions

2.Luke Slater - He also spins the most amazing techno, but not so much bxr stuff.. more hard banging techno which keeps you dancing through the whole set without ANY stop at all
its just unbelieveable

3.Deep Dish - Their deep progressive beats are amazing.. and speacially when they play a song over another song
like 2 records @ the same time... its just amazing to hear.. the selection is just amazing

Lots of other dj's that i could name here, but these are the 3 main dj's that i love listening too.

Otherwise I agree with Mauro Picotto & Paul Van Dyk.

Timo Maas has his own style too, but I don't like it.
