Cheese competition!

Yes, due to the response in the other cheese thread, I think this should be official. We all submit our best cheese. A few questions need to be worked out:

1) Who judges? I like some cheese myself (though more of the "big melody" cheese than the "pop vocal" type), but we need some more opinions.

2) Are there multiple categories? I think we should have:
Cheesiest
Best produced
Best melody/chords
Best mixing/mastering

3) How do we submit? Do we just all post links right before the thing ends?

4) Just how cheesy does it have to be? Does only DJ sammy stuff count? Or would armin style? or airbase/flutlicht style?

I think we can all agree that there's not going to be a prize .

Anyone interested?

Im in.

Oh and I agree with the multiple categories but I think anything just under Dj Sammy. Armins not cheese

I think he means tunes in that style that are cheese. Any type of tune can be cheesy, it depends on the melody.

I think this is a great idea!

just one thing... isn't "best produced" a pretty broad category?

Posted by Sean Walsh on Mar-18-2004 07:22:

It is pretty broad, yeah, and will have to be sub-categorized into areas like quality of samples, percussions, synths, etc.

Personally when I think cheese I think DJ Sammy, or '99 Hard House type stuff, and that's what my entry will probably be =P What is a reasonable deadline for this, 3-4 weeks?

The production on it is actually fairly nice, imho. The melody itself is fairly standard epic cheese, but I could see it getting signed. I know a DJ or two here who would play it *cough*OS2*cough*

Well guys, I slaved over this for a whole hour, and here's the final result. Unmastered for an embarassing feel, as in "I'm ashamed to be listening to this crap." I know I cringe every time I hear it. Enjoy!

Oh yeah about the filename - I was going for the longest title, ever. Dunno if I got it, (come to think of it, The Orb - A Huge Ever Growing Pulsating Brain That Rules from the centre of the Ultraworld and other tracks like that might be longer) but I had fun with it.
