Cool FAO All: This Newfound Flaming

please cut it out. the forum is supposed to be here to guide others, talk constructively and put your point accross in an adult manner, and sometimes to show off your skillz

i'm sure all (well most of you ) can move on and hopefully grow up.

well the thing is, there are a few stickies on this forum...although they are clearly visible the new people doesn't read them and then they waste our time with asking the same questions that has been answered already over and over again....as long as people asks thoose questions I give myself the right to at least flame a little...

Posted by DJMikeyP on Mar-19-2004 03:30:

I think he might be talking about a situation where someone goes, "i'd like to accomplish this", or, "Hey everybody guess what".... and then people come on bashing the topic just because it doesn't pertain to THEM (kind of arrogant and counterproductive).

A little while ago I said something about a 'golden rule' which I'd like to revise. The golden rule should be "Constructive Critisizm or STFU"... as in if you can't help the flow of the thread to accomplish something positive and hopefully in the spirit of the original poster, you're just wasting everyone's time and proving you have nothing better to do.

"you're just wasting everyone's time and proving you have nothing better to do."

How is that constructive..

Dude i wasn't bagging on this thread... I was saying that if you come into a thread devoid of helpful information, and all you do is the flaming, then at THAT point you're wasting time and proving you have nothing better to do

come on now i'm on your side

Posted by Stuart Silver on Mar-19-2004 10:38:

Superb! It looks like Lukes anti-flaming thread is going to end up with people flaming each other

And maybe they should ban nonsense smartass-postwhore-comments.
Throw in a ban at animated avatars and signarures too.
And how bout closing this thread.

Posted by moth on Mar-19-2004 19:05:

Might as well ban everyone and close everything, am i right?

Posted by Tom_cowan on Mar-20-2004 13:10:

Sounds like a plan luke, ban any thred with "VS" in the subject, its just asking for trouble.

I really enjoy reading those flaming threads when someone posts a really stupid dumb question. The ironic and sarcastic answer are a pleasure sometimes and I think everything should stay like it is.

This producer forum runs quite well and is properly organized like it is now. A big thanks to all the mods here.

And if you want to see a little bit trashy forum, watch out for the board at www.reasonstation.net.
Nearly every week a new thread about Reason's sound quality, where lots of people always are telling the same story again and again...
