playing hard to get with girls...

this is just something i have a hard time understanding right now. if its there and you both want the same thing, fucking take it. i hate these damn head games. why do girls want guys to do this. this girl and i both like each other and i pretty much talk to her or see her everyday, and now she wants me to play hard to get? i just dont get it. someone help me out here.

The particular girls you are referring to want guys to do this because they are fucked up, stuck up, used to having guys go after them, and the only way to really be noticed is to treat them like crap (i.e. different from how all the other guys treat them).

It's bloody sad, and that's why I don't bother to associate with those girls anymore. I used to get upset when I would tell off those girls and then see them with other guys, thinking I'd had a chance and fucked up, but then I saw how miserable those guys were putting up with all that shit. Trust me, it's better to stay single than deal with mind games.

Edit: And I assume "she" wants "him" to play hard to get by virtue of the fact that she just ignores him when he's nice to her.

thanks, now i understand. i would suggest you go along with it, but not on an emotional level, just physical. See the things is, like the above TA's have mentioned, is that these mind games lead nowhere and you just tend to lose respect for the girl. But, if she really is hot, and you truly belive you have a chance, play those mind games in the hope that it will get you layed.

Allow me to let you in on a little secret: the vast majority of women have no idea what they really want.

This girl may think she wants you to play hard to get, but she's probably wrong. Just remember how many women say they like "nice guys" (as opposed to how many actually do).

So what should you do? It's simple really, just be yourself. Either it will work out or it won't, but trying to do what she says she wants you to do isn't going to make it any more likely to work out. In fact, it's quite possible that it would make it less likely to work out.

When a girl says "I want you to play hard to get" it means she's had to much of you. It means that you were probably to easy to bait in and/or ARE TOO INTO HER. So back off with all the touchy feely "I want you/I love you/I need you/Call me/I wanna see you" crap, and just sit back and let her do the work. She probably doesn't like the fact that you're pushy and want her so much, and would rather have a guy that's more laid back and less dominant.
