would you like it if....

before going to an event, the dj's performing publicly listed the exact set they would be playing, tracklist and all, so that you new what to expect?

Posted by nchs09 on Mar-20-2004 09:04:

Rasta

i think it'd be sweet if they mentioned ilke 3-4 of the tracks..

to entice the audience and whatnot...
obviously those tracks might be well known, whatevs.

but the whole point of goign to a show, imo, is being surprised, amazing, and you know.....floored to the ground because an old skool song came on, or an very unexpected mix...

yeah

that would be CRAAAAAAAAAP

I've got a sound bite of a live Nine Inch Nails concert, where Trent Reznor all of a sudden started playing the Legend of Zelda Theme. The audience went nuts, and it would have sucked if they knew before hand.

Posted by tu_face on Mar-20-2004 12:12:

no no no.

what is the point..? you know whats coming, and that defeats the whole object of someone playing a set. part of what separates good djs from crap djs is the ability to read the crowd.

Posted by mcdpitt on Mar-20-2004 17:30:

no respectable dj would preplan his set before hand imo...and to answer the question, i would hate it!

werd.

Instead of slacking jukeboxes, seeing DJ's live would be like purchasing a compilation that you can't listen to again.

Certainly NOT

I can email it to you if you want it. Its MP3, 1.3MB.

It's a crap idea imo, one of the greatest parts of going to a show is not knowing what's next, and then a huge track is dropped and blows the crowd away. It's not the same if you knew before hand, at all.

Posted by Slag on Mar-21-2004 01:33:

Leave it a surprise

Posted by TrancEuphoria on Mar-21-2004 03:26:

Its always nice to go to a show and when you hear a track that you love that is unexpected or hadn't herd in a while so nice

Posted by Paula on Mar-21-2004 14:52:

Absolutely not. I would extremely disappointed if any DJ I love did that before a show. Tracklist time comes AFTER.

Posted by Plastick on Mar-21-2004 15:06:

What's the point of going to see a DJ play but knowing the tracklist already?
