The ED-209 and other Droids Appreciation Thread

Does anybody remember him? HAHA he was so cool back in the days, and heaps of TV shows and movies have mocked the ED-209's strictness and failure to obey!

Watched The Simpson's episode the other night where Homer pretends to be a Cybrog and fight in the Robot Rumble contest! Seeing the mocked ED-209 brang back some memories.

Transformers and Macross are cool too!

The first time I saw Robocop, ED-209 scared the crap out of me. Remember the part where the bad guy got that toxic waste spilled on him, and he got hit by a car and just exploded into this gooey mess? That's classic.

I'm a nerd though, my favorite is Data from Star Trek.

there have only ever been 2 robots in the history of TV and film that are plausable. The Terminator and Data from star treck.

these are the only two that use artificial neural networks as there "brain". ind from my studies of AI this is the only way you could create machines that have the ability to learn to any decent standard.

so Terminator and data are my faves...
