I haven't heard many remixes from John Askew so I cannot compare it to this, but yeah the John Askew remix sounds awesome, really dig some of the background sounds and how well they go together while having a good amount of energy as well. The Original sounds a bit bland compared to this and is a bit repetetive, so I prefer the Askew remix best. 8.5/10

Askew's remix sounds like all his other remixes... which isn't to say it's bad but he could stand to mix it up a little. Anyway in this case his remix doesn't really go anywhere and I prefer the original. Quality tune, epic stuff.

askew's remix sucks, same with his remix of floor control, and introspection.

destroys the tune imo

Posted by rudi_vata on Mar-22-2004 01:45:

askew is a master, his rmx of introspections is magic, this tune is ok too

Posted by Streakfury on Mar-22-2004 01:58:

The original Introspection is so much better than Askew's Remix, I think. As for these two tunes, Askew's mix isn't bad, but again, I like the original more. I've also heard a third version, although I dont know what the hell that is.

For me, I like the original more, because it has a much more driving melody. John beefs up the kick and bassline as usual, and I like this remix more then just about any remix he's done.

I don't like his floor control remix much, but the original floor control mix is amazing, but damn hard to mix with.

As for introspection goes, I am a big fan of John's remix. The original mix is soo weak as far as kick and overall drive to the track. John has a wicked drive with this remix and I'm going to be playing for months to come.

The Door is one of my all-time favorite tracks and I drop it regularly in sets, but few of his other original productions, imo, even begin to touch on The Door's quality. I hope his new material on kompressed will be more melodic like the door.

The original is a masterpiece of a tune!!
with a really long intro part wich is damn wicked, with that psy-sound kicking in.

and suddenly the main melody comes in, before this bomb turns into a real trancer!! awesome stuff!!

with no doubt, one of my fav. atm
so you should def. look out for this with offical release date: 29. March.

The Original mix is def better, but John Askews Mix has little bit more energy, I miss the nice breakdown in his mix
His Introspection Mix is really hot
Too sad he didn't release his Remix on PvD - Time of our lives
I heard a sample of that one, it was soooo great!

Thumbs up

I've heard only Askews remix so far and it's excellent, very banging and interesting. Good stuff

you just contradicted yourself.. you said you liked the original more, and in your second paragraph you state that you prefer askew's remix. Well, which one is it? :P

He never said he preferred Askew's remix of Few Days Away. Read carefully.

I think Askew should tone down his pvd worship in his rmxs. Netherless the kick is fecking awesome.
