ASOT Forum???

Can we make a forum that is deticated to Armin's ASOT show? I, for one, am truly tired of going into the "new releases" forum and seeing nothing but " I heard this on ASOT *** and it's amazing!".

If not starting a new forum, how about patrolling that forum a little closer? I bet more then half that tracks that are talked about aren't even close to being released. It really pisses me off going into there and clicking on these reviewed tracks that don't even have a release date set for them.

What we really need is a mod to go in and delete all the ASOT threads. There's a couple of people in particular who refuse to stop posting endless amounts of 'OMG I HEARD IT ON ASOT' threads, a mass delete is probably the only way to fix it IMO.

Maybe you should make it clearer that the forum is for new in STORE/SHOP releases, and not new on RADIO/INTERNET releases.

Exactly. This is a subject I feel very strongly about on TA. It's a shame that a once very informative forum could turn out this way.

Right - CD or Vinyl. What are you going to do - download the plastic through your connection? More sensible alternative would be to:

a) Steal it from someone
b) Buy it from someone

In scene as you might or might not know, mp3s get 'released' for both Vinyls and CDs, just because one is out it doesn't mean they don't do the other.

Example:
A_Matsumoto_And_Dj_Yoshi-Dreamer__Incl_Luke_Chable_Remix-Promo_Vinyl-2004-
A_Matsumoto_and_DJ_Yoshi-Dreamer__Incl_Luke_Chable_Remix-Promo_CDR-2004-

Add to that new tunes that appear on shows, ie. ASOT, the confusion or misleading is complete.

So as you see mp3 or plastic... the rules written there aren't clear enough
If they were clear we wouldn't be having this discussion.

But the better idea is to create a forum/thread with all upcoming live broadcasts from any event, including the info to listen, not just ASOT. There are lot of quality shows like GDJB, World Tour, In Charge, Oslo Nights etc. and other shows on TAW, ETS, TranceSphere, etc.

Couple of months back another TA-member created a thread about live broadcasts, but he deleted it. If it's possible and people want it, I can create something like that again (with some help ofcourse)

Spot on. I know there are people on this board willing to do exactly that. I know there are actually mods already on this board, who don't currently have modeartor capabilities in the CD Releases forum that would be willing to do this. One that springs to mind is Ste. It's one of the forums I like to read thru most in deciding what tracks mite be worth checking out a bit more in order to buy, and stuff and many people are just making it shit with their gash mp3 radio rips.

I already had this debate with Neo in the thread arctic posted a link to, and he said that the "New Releases" forum is just for tunes people have heard in general. This despite the sticky Swamper has posted. So I'm a bit confused, is it for tunes that actually are released or is it just for new tunes in general?

i did this on the Belgian forum

but apparently you can't edit the first post of a thread anymore after a month or so.. so i quit updating it, because what's the use if you can't establish a clear list of upcoming broadcasts in your first post?

one thing i wonder though, is why the first post of the upcoming releases thread in the new releases forum can still be edited?

anyway, i definitely like the idea, but you really have to be able to edit the first post, otherwise the thread is a mess..

This is my major beef. I don't have the time to come on here anymore and browse through the threads so I just go to the "new releases" forum. What do I usually find? A bunch of threads about tracks that don't even have a release dates

Agreed, I'm a bit lost as well. Either it's for new releases, or it's a 'discuss songs you've heard' forum, it can't be both. If it's a new releases forum, then a mod needs to get in there and clean it up ASAP.

Don't you realise that these idiot ripping groups put out (or 'release' as you call it) all sorts of junk - stuff that is not going to be released and tunes that are horrifically misnamed (see the Echano/Vimana ordeal from last month).

How clear do you want it?! Vinyl and CD releases are vinyl and CD that we could go into a shop and actually buy!! The reason we are having this discussion is because the rules are being ignored and nobody is enforcing them.

Exactly Mikey. Gotta give Ste the chance to sort out the forum, because I'm not sure if anyone else is going to...

I'm totally behind letting ste sort out the forum, it's not like it's a ridiculous request such as a local scene forum for Guatamala or Vivid's forum but something that will be of help for everyone to tell about proper new releases and not just ones heard on ASOT like little shits like shahar post

Well spotted. This thread should be where these ASOT related posts go (as most of these tunes will be released in the future), and the forum should be used for current releases (as originally intended).

OK, points taken into consideration and i agree it needs to be more clearly defined.

But as i have said before, any new tune should be discussed in that forum wether its a vinyl / cd release or heard on a radio show like ASOT or TranceAirWaves.

MP3 RELEASES OF CD / VINYL / RADIO RIPS should not be discussed thou IMO.

I'll talk to Swamper about it as soon as possible.

Still waiting for a reply or some reasoning.........

how about making also a Soundgarden forum and a World Tour forum ??
