MGS-The Twin Snakes

I am thinking on buying MGS-The Twin Snakes.
Anyone that has it , can they tell me how good is it?
Was it good like the other MGS? What's new?

Thnx in advanced~

from what i understand it's basically the old MGS game for playstation, but with new movies and the graphic is like MGS2, which does so you can do the same thing like in MGS2.. for example first person shooting etc...

it's a very worthy remake. they did an exemplary job keeping all of the original MGS level designs intact while making it look a helluva lot more prettier with the revamped textures.

check out gamespot's editor's review for more insight. it should convince you from the screens alone.

my only gripe with it is how they removed the ethnic accents from mei ling and naomi.

don't expect it to have anything new tho aside from what is already offered in-game.

actually, it wouldn't make sense for Mei Ling to have an accent since she was born and raised in America.

And the game is truly awesome. The movies are very well done (sometimes a little over the top, but rarely, and they're so much more dramatic in certain parts). I love this game.

If you're a huge fan of the original though, then definately check this out cause it's a great way to relive the experience with purrrdy graphics, surround sound and redone cutscenes.

that's true. i guess i just enjoyed her accent in the original. after hearing the accent in the past, it seems awkward in twin snakes without it. an insignificant gripe to say the least.

in any case, it's a title worth purchasing. it's about time GC had another game that's "mature"

how are the controls in the game? im thinking of buying too, but i hear it is just a rehash of the original, which is just way too short...

Posted by infinity HiGH on Mar-25-2004 20:28:

The controls work pretty well. It may take you a bit to get used to, but it's nothing mind-numbing.

And I wouldn't say it's a rehash. The completely redone cinematics alone are worth a purchase in my opinion.

Basically, if you're a fan of Metal Gear, then you should really enjoy this remake

They stayed as true to the original as possible.

did they really do that? did u have a memory card with ED in ur GC?

also, is it worth palying all over again? i read some of the bosses are alot easier

pork

Posted by infinity HiGH on Mar-30-2004 04:51:

Yup, have ED on my mem card so he mentioned it. I was hoping he would mention Metriod Prime as well, but he didn't

And imo, it is worth playing it again. The bosses are a bit easier because you now have the option of shooting them in the head and take off more damage; but they're not that much easier. And the guards make up for it, cause those ******s are really smart this time around.

Like I said before, if you're a fan of the original then definately play this. I'm a huge fan, so watching all those memorable scenes all over again, completely redone was VERY cool. A great nostalgia trip. And the cutscenes are so much more dramatic and intense this time around.

Castlevania is produced by Konami
MGS is produced by Konami as well

When you encounter Psycho Mantis; he reads your memory card, and he mentions any Konami game on there.

So if you have a save file of Castlevania, he says "Sooo, I see you enjoyed Castlevania"

This game OWNS bigtime!! Played the original many many times but this is even better with this awesome graphics. It's a must buy for GC owners. In my opinion this game is worth buying a GC!!

Psycho knows I like Eternal Darkness and The Wind Waker too.

And still MGS is one of the best games ever made and it will be forever. The storyline kills me of his beauty!

did they add first person view to the game?

when i played the original I found that not having the ability to go into first person was annoying
