Israel Kills Sheikh Yassin (Leader of Hamas)
Just being reported right now by Jennifer Griffin, FOX News Israel correspondent. He's always been difficult to find. Apparently he got found, by an IAF missile.
Finish off Arafat and I'll be happy.
Quiz: Which one is the Sheikh?

About damn time.
Israel should get ready for more attacks...

Good to see Israel has ended Palestinian resistance!
About time there was a better way to represent sarcasm on the net...|

To anyone more familiar with the Israeli - Palestinian conflict than I am, was there no way of simply capturing and imprisoning Yassin rather than assassinating him?

Pretty stupid move by Israel (from Israel's point of view), if you ask me.
Sheik Ahmed Yassin was a spiritual leader. He was in the past certantly responsible for lots of suicide bombings, but right now, he was just that: a spiritual leader. For sure he did not orchestrate bombings ATM, and i doubt he knew about the majority of them.
Killing him is a very stupid move. The guy was a rich man, and all his money will now join the funds of Hamas (that was the case for most of it, but now all the money belongs to Hamas). And by killing him, the organization will not weaken, only get stronger. The Hamas would only get weaker if Israel kills the man (or men) who are the true brains of the Hamas. Killing a spiritual leader will only enfuriate the militants and bring more chaos upon Israel, and consequently, upon Palestine.
Or do you people think an 80-year old man, in a wheelchair and on the border of senility was the "man of the plan"?
I have no doubts this will bring a lot of suicide bombings in response. That's another reason why it was a stupid move - suicide attacks will happen, and they will be worse, because now there are many palestinians wanting to avenge the old man. It's funny what an Israeli minister said in BBC today - "now the peace process can go forward" . Yeah, right.

Oh, no. Israel's really done it now. Hamas vows revenge. They may stoop to even worse terror attacks, such as outfitting a 10-year-old with a bomb, blowing up buses, disco's, pizzeria, Passover Seders, hitting public places where young people hang out. I bet they might even now try to target innocent women and children.
When Yassin was killed, he was in a car. Now he knows how all the Jews he ordered massacred on buses feels.
The PR shots of him in his wheelchair will be remembered by those that don't see the crippled bodies of all those that he ordered to be bombed by Hamas.
A very foolish move, Sheikh Yassin is now far more powerful in death than he ever was in life. He is now what every muslim admires the most "a martyr."
