purchase: undecided... mixer VS rack-synth

I'm putting up a vote to see which i should get with a wad of cash i'm gonna have from my tax return and school term ending, thus more work hours.
I'll be able to equally afford either of these 2 pieces... help me choose and vote!!

ALLEN&HEATH XONE 92 MIXER (FADER EDITION)

OR

ROLAND JP8080 ANALOG MODELING RACK SYNTH

NOTE:
I already have the VMX300, but it's slowly dying and I've wanted the Xone92 since it was press-released, and the same desire exists for teh JP8080 synth, but I don't yet have a synth. Basically though, I've been equally dreaming of both items... so I'm at a crossroads.

thanx all for your input!

I suspect that most people will say get the Xone. Of course this IS the DJ Booth.... something tells me if you posted this in the Production Forum you would get very different results.

As a side note, any Xone 92 users here at TA? I am curious to see what people have to say (not that I am close to affording one of these bad boys).

EDIT - I see that you also posted in the Production Forum

if i had the money, i'd definitly get the xone as for im not really into producing music just yet.

id get the rotary version of the xone 92. its so sexy.

Im voting for the xone 92 for obvious reasons. As for producing, im really not into it but when i get that urge i often use software.

Both nice pieces of kit but not comparable.

For the price range you may also want to look at the Nord-Rack or the Virus C.

I would say it depends on what you have already? If you don't have anything else in terms of production then I would say don't bother as you will find that to really achieve something you need more than just a synth module. Can't remember if I have seen you in the production forum (Something tells me I have... and yes now I am sure).

Send me a PM and I will share something I know with you, with regards to softsynths etc.

Cheers
Nem
