TOTA has some awesome DJs. Just go to the amateur dj masterlist.

Dekoze and Mark Oliver are my favorite and probably the best Toronto DJs (besides the TA ones of course).

Some here tend to regard DJ Danny D as a contender as well - but I disagree.

Sydney Blu rocks. Jelo, Deko-ze, Kenny Glasgow and Greg Gow are some other kick ass locals that are more well known.

As for local talent, I see that Mark Scaife hasn't been mentioned already.

while i generally don't like his kind of music, he does NOT suck. He can spin many genres, and quite well. Someone who can do that does not suck.

don't agree with you... i hate djs changing styles from one track to the other without any proper transition.

When a DJ is on the decks its his/her style. Noone will decide what to play for them.

24_7 <--------- Up and coming....sick

Posted by mot10n on Mar-23-2004 21:06:

when mark oliver followed up marco v @ guv, he definately did not suck.

catering to the hardtrance/hardhouse crowd, he had me going twice as hard for him as i did for marco, whom i came to see. everyone around me musta thought i was on speed or something, cuz i just couldn't stop!

oliver impressed me to no end that night. a very talented man is he. so my opinion is he definately does not suck.

Your either nuts, or haven't heard Mark enough times, i've heard plenty of 8 -9 hour sets and he rarely sqrews up, if that sucks i dont know what good is.
Only time mark sucks is when he plays boring prog for 4 hours straight

Posted by Skipper on Mar-24-2004 03:18:

ok peeps, "sucks" is a relative term...we have established that.

and thanks kristina for the nice post!

(oops, almost typed "nice pot" there.)
