James Holden on the GU label?

So how about it - how many of you would like to see James Holden do a mix for the Global Underground label? I'd love to see that happen, and I think his style would fit in nicely with the overall GU feel.

Thoughts?

I'd love to see James Holden make a Global Underground compilation. If it would be anything in par with Balance 005 it would be great.

Yes! Holden has the potential to be one of those few electronic dance music messiahs who bridge genre barriers. If he did a GU it would be a smart move indeed.

Nah. Global Underground is such a pretentious load of wank record label ... I'd rather see him sign to a label that won't automatically have 99% of the record buying public writing him off as trainspotter prog music.

I thought that's what he was, and why he was chosen by the starter of this thread.

I prefer to think of Holden as a "Transgressive" DJ, although in addition to that he also plays a fair amount of techno.

As for Kia Kaha's post...I'm assuming the post means that any artist signed to GU plays prog. If I've interpreted that correctly, then you haven't heard Tony De Vit's mixes, or Nick Warren's mixes, Or Oakey's DnB mix, or James Lavelle's mixes, or Darren Emerson's mixes.

i think that that would be pretty fucking nice, providing he learns how to beat match. he has a problem with that BADLY... but i would buy it, i tell you that.
