Pretty easily, they took the Spanish word for "Ferry". It's easy to see that with the first letters "Trans-" that they're talking about a form of transportation.

In Spain and Portugal we use the word "Ferry" (from Ferryboat) to refer a boat that transports people and vehicles from one piece of land to another...
