(PLEASE DELETE MY PREVIOUS POST FOR ME, NOT SURE WHY IT IS CLOSED.
Hi guys,
Whenever i mix or play from my cdplayer, i seem to be getting echoes, hallow in my room, i suspect it could be because of the way i mix, btw .. my mix is crappy, TRAINWRECK is normal. heheheh.
i have tried shifting my speakers , but doesnt really help. these are the following i suspect
1) Problem with mixer ( perhaps get another mixer?)
2) Room
3) No subwoofer
4) The way i mix
My equipment
- PIONEER CMX3000
- BERINGHER DX626
- SMALL SONATA,JBW SPEAKERS, BUT NO SUBWOOFER
- NAD AMP

I would appreciate if ya guys can help me out.

i take it you mean you hear echoes if you are standing in the room listening rather than out the headphones...if its out the headphones its hardware issue (must likely)
what are your walls made of?
diferant materials have differant reflective properties. stone is more reflective than plasterboard for example.
i also notice that your floor is hard board....which is quite reflective. carpet is good at preventing reflection.
basicly the echoes will be because of your room. unless you are willing to spend alot on things like carpet and things then im afraid your gonna have to deal with it

Hi,
Thank you for your reply.
So you are saying i should get a carpet and it is DEFINATELY going to help?
and also, are there other things that i can buy and place around my place to absorb those echoes/whooshy effect?
thank you
it wont definately help...to be honest its probly not worth the cost.
rooms with bad acustics tend to stay as bad acoustic rooms. there aint much you can do...
if you want to get a better answer than what i am able to give then join this forum. these people know what they are talking about fully where i know the ideas behind acoustics.

apparently i was doing some reading up, and they mentioned that placing empty boxes around the room will help.
not sure if it is true.
