5am - 1st Birthday at Viper Room - REVIEW

well..

what a night.

everyone from 5am and the whole crew, dj's, promoters, and everyone involved in getting tonight up and running should take a serious bow, because this party really did kick some serious ass.

Viper was quite full for most of the night, and it was a good full, and it was full of pretty good people, out for some fun, (as opposed to some Friday nights there).

The tunes -

well, 5am's mission is to deliver Euphoric and Uplifting Trance, and well they didnt disappoint... from the moment i came in, there were great tunes being played and the first one that sprung into my ears was - 'Tears From The Moon (DJ Tiesto Remix)' and 'Iio - Smooth (Airbase Mix)' were two big tunes played early..

Chris Pana's cd was thrust into my hands, whilst i was enjoying those songs, and i noticed he was playing on the decks, so he must've had the scouts out doing the rounds.. (good marketing pana)

Also heard him play Re:Locate - Waterfall which was really huge, and plenty of other tracks, which i really cannot remember right now...

After Pana and Pat, was Reemo and Jules, and i tell you what.. they really did own the place.. they had the crowd rocking, and i was very impressed with how they were able to hold the crowd, and also play some very very nice tracks...

racking my brain to think of some of ID's, but i'm drawing a blank at the moment, even though i recognised heaps of the tracks during the set. Although i do remember hearing 'Paul Van Dyk feat. Second Sun - Crush (PvD Club Mix) and GTR - Mistral, which was

After reemo and jules, it was time for Dave Begic to make his triumphant return to the DJ Stage, this time partnered up with A.Mangler, and these guys really did work well together..

Great tunes played -

Elles De Graaf - Circles of Why (Robert Gitelman Remix)
Rank 1 - Airwave (Dave Begic's Title Wave Mix)
Planet Perfecto - Bullet In The Gun (??? Remix)
Darren Tate vs. Jono Grant - Let The Light Shine In (Which blew my mind.. great tune.. and it was awesome to hear it on the big spkrs.. great selection Dave)
Saltwater - The Legacy (Alphazone Remix)

plus much much more.

got cd's from Albert and Chris Pana to listen to tomorrow sometime, and i will post up a cd-review from them too

i thoroughly enjoyed the night

well done to all concerned.. great work.. and let 5a.m THRIVE ON!!!

GREAT JOB GUYS AND GIRLS

Posted by Mangler on Mar-28-2004 01:15:

damn you all
i wanted to go, but none of my friends really enjoy uplifting trance, only hard/hard style so they didnt want to go. damnit would have been a mad night

Posted by 00soups00 on Mar-28-2004 05:21:

i was in a similar situation Wick, but i knew i didnt
wanna miss out on this, so i called up the reliable girl
who always comes along if i need it..

and it was a good night..

Track of the night -

Cern - The Message (Northern Mix)

Posted by -=M=- on Mar-28-2004 06:43:

there needs to be an emoticon for crying

Posted by Hybrid Junkie on Mar-28-2004 13:11:

Was good indeed.

My highlights would've have to have been Born Slippy Nuxx, nice work Pana! (I think it was pana), sam sharp - twister, and mac zimm - l'annonce des coleurs (basic dawn mix).

Time for sleeps, still got tunes rocking tho

awesome night !

did notice a different crowd compared to when Sample Gee played there

unfortunately had to leave early on when Steve and Charlie started playing and the place was still rockin'

props to all of the 5AM crew and all of the DJs

jesus, what an awesome night.. i had the time of my life and like albert said we were on the same page and the tracks flowed very well together, great to go vs with the big bad mangler

it was a surreal feeling playing my mix of airwave.. but i liked it, alot.. had the greatest time, and picked up a stack of demo cds on my way !

good to see mangler, ausclubber & co., soups, pana[i really liked ur cd] & strangis, and my mates who came down for a bit.

thanks for the opportunity 5am, can't wait for the next.

Love is in the air 5AM Thanx you!

WOW thanx to everyone:

To all of the Punters whom came and helped us celebrate turning 1 without all of you fun loving trance heads it just would not be the same! Soups - werd on Cern - The Message (Northern Mix) I think Sezzy can back me up on saying this track along with Saltwater - The Legacy (Alphazone mix)

To the 5AM DJ's - well what can I say... you always do us proud and on Saturday night I couldn't have been happier I thought I had heard Jules & Reemo and Dave & Alb's at their best but was happily proven wrong

To my hard working Promo Ho's - you have started off as individual random party ppl and grown into an awesome group of friends that I love rocking with at ALL events I hope that you will all keep partying with us and supporting the Manglooni well into the future

To my partner in crime Alby Mangles aka sensible Mangler u know how much I luv ur Mangled antics and without you I would not be as happy as I am now *well not right now cos I still berry broked after the weekend and I dont understand the meaning of work * Keep on rockin babes and start making those trance babies!

luv loulou xx.

The Mangler rulebook - the escape clause

Clause 61 e (iii);
Under certain circumstances there is an exception to every rule. Known as the (Holly Clause) Use this clause te retract, withdraw, or contradict anything you've ever said before.
It is to be used ONLY with extreme caution & care, otherwise you run the risk of people not taking you seriously (and we cant have that happening!).
You may look like an idiot when enforcing this clause.

Holly Vallance

You know Alb's even if she hadn't been there and asked for it Charlie was going to play it for me anyways

Posted by Manglerina on Mar-29-2004 02:25:

Hmmmm... the Escape Clause... I have had an interesting time trying to enforce this clause in the past!
