Would love to hear you guyz comment on this short compiled-clip of my tune Ararat...

The clip is realtively short and in low bitrate for your convenience

Anything goes, thanks in advance

Nice job mate, I see you added some more new elements to this.
I love the melody you made there the intro seems very cool as well.

The only thing I noticed is that the percussion is abit to simple, and that off beat open hat gets abit repetitive after awhile, make the percussion as variable as the melody and this will be even more awesome.

Btw, why didnt you use my web space the other night? Was there any problems logging to the account?

Hey there mate, thanks for the comments, I'll try to work on the percs... neglected a bit there I guess

Yeah the site gave me some trouble, but thankfully the other one I have got back online so it's cool

Hi there

I think the kick and the clap draw too much attention, you'll need to look at the levels once again. Percussion needs some more variation/elements. I don't like the break either.

Melody is good though, so a bit more work on this et voila: nice track.

Cool

hmm this sounds very nice, a bit like solar factor meets asot, rather original only complaint is that it sounds a bit thin in places, i can imagine this working well live. good effort

Thx guyz, all taken in

Hey oDrori,

I agree with Jay M that the clap does draw a lot of attention. But I do like the clap. Its a nice crisp sound. If I can just reiterate what he stated that you should probably just check the levels and youll be fine.
One thing I dont like is the hihat. But thats just a personal preference.
I like your break but it sounds thin. Im sure you know how to take care of that.
I like the synth used for the melody. Its a refreshing sound. And I love the melody itself.
But if I could just rewind back a bit, the beginning moments of the song is real high quality dance music. Luke Terry is right about having this work live. I would love to hear this in a club, on a sick system.
Anyway, great work! I like this a lot.
Good luck with the rest.

I'm considering working on a "Dark" mix which will mainly feature that type of vibe ... A remixer-friend of mine is also working on a mix which is focused on that... I myself am not that much of a "Dark-Trance" fan

Anywayz, that was heart warming Thanks a lot

Posted by Sunquest on Mar-28-2004 21:32:

damn first off
look out M.I.K.E. , the beginning is very nice, the kick is a little weak, id change the kick totally
nice breakbeat in the middle, very original
the ending, very unexpected (in a good way)
nice melody, very pumping track, id say its more relaxing than a club tune, but thats me

good work, keep it up

I felt almost completely pleased with the kick... Is it really that weak?

Hey oDrori,

I got to check out the remix just now. As I did like it I dont think it had the same emotion that ran through the original. Maybe its just not my style. Just one gripe about the production quality, I do think that the main synth lead is too loud. It kind of drowns out the rest of the song. Maybe that was intentional though, so I dont quite know.

One more comment about the original. I would open a set up with this song if I could. The more I listen, the more I love it. And I know I commented on it being thin in places but now I think I like it the way it is, especially the breakbeat part. Minimal can be just as powerful as something that is over-the-top. And yours definitely fits that description. I beleive that it is a good opener to a set. And I cant get enough of the beat itself. I would kill to hear your clap over a club system. Cant wait to hear the song in its entirety.
