Solid Corporation, Twisted Productions, Masterplan and Plaza of Nations proudly presents you Grand Finale. This revolutionary event will mark the end of the Plaza of Nations as this venue will no longer be available to us after this featured event. The Plaza of Nations played a key role in the scene since 1999 and will be dearly missed by everyone. We will be presenting something fresh and innovative, as it will feature exceptionally polished talent around the globe, an incredible matrix of lasers, mind-blowing visuals, astonishing light effects and a thumpin' sound system. Come commemorate with us as we together put on one of the most ground-breaking productions to ever hit an event of this caliber.

=MAIN ROOM=
Trance / Hard Dance / Techno

BK (Nukleuz Records) London, UK

Ben Keen, a.k.a. BK, is recognized the world over as the most successful and prolific hard dance producer of all time. With worldwide dance chart hits like Music Is Moving, Hoovers n Horns, and Revolution, BK has reinvented the genre of hard house and breathed new life into the style. And in addition to having conquered the world of hard house with his production skills, BK is positioned to take over the global DJ scene, ranking since 2001 as one of DJmags top 50 international DJs. He calls his sound ever-changing and full of energy, with innovative infusions of trance and techno that redefine the hard house style. He believes that the sound of hard house has definitely changedits got to, and whether producing or playing, the sounds that BK creates represent the future of the genre.

Dumonde aka JamX & Deleon - (www.dumonde.de) Germany

DuMonde are Jurgen Mutschall aka JamX and Dominik de Leon aka De Leon. The dynamic duo will both be gracing the decks in Vancouver once again. Jamx and De Leon are now two of Germany's biggest DJs. Their production skills are up there with the world's best, collaborating with the likes of DJ Tiesto and Push. You can now hear DuMonde's hard techno trance sound across the entire globe, as their records hit the top 40 in dozens of leading countries. This entered the top 10 Dance Charts in Germany, and hit dozens of compilations, including "Gatecrasher Wet", "Clubber's Guide", and "Euphoria". It was undoubtedly the tune that put DuMonde on the map. Now, with every major club in the U.K after them, JamX and De Leon are set to develop their DJ reputations there, to the same level as it is in Germany. So forget about the past and listen to the future - "God Music" continues the story of DuMonde, which definitely can't be anything but successful. The year 2004 looks bright for the dynamic duo. As theyve been working diligently on their new tracks Blue Monday, Cold/Kalt and several others remixes/tracks.

Fort Knox Five vs Thunderball (Fort Knox Recordings/Thunderball) Washington, DC USA

In the past year the Fort Knox Five has made a huge impact on the international Downtempo/Breaks scene. Their Debut at the 2003 Winter Music Conference in Miami was very well met. With just five critically acclaimed 12 inch singles, and a slew of dope remixes. Including a remix for the TOWER of POWER funk band, an a remix for Rodney Hunter on Kruder and Dorfmeister's label G-stone. They are making big waves. Their production is top notch. Whether it is straight funk and soul or bubbly breakbeats it is always rocking. The Fort Knox Five fuses live instrumentation flawlessly with electronic music production. They have made several appearances on Mix Compilations and have several Top Producer/DJs, such as Quantic, Vienna Scientists, and Afrika Bambaataa, caning their tunes all over the world. The Fort Knox Five have a very unique DJ style that ranges from eclectic downbeat to upbeat funk/soul breaks. In the last six months, they have had major shows all over the world. With stops in Russia, Germany, Hungary, Switzerland, London, and everywhere else in between. It has been a busy few months for the Fort Knox Five. Recently they have been commissioned by the godfather himself, Afrika Bambaataa, to produce a nice portion of his new album on Tommy Boy. Keep an eye out for them in the future. They will be rocking crowds all over the world.

Revolutionary event? You're joking right?

Can't say that I'll miss not being here for this party hahhah

what a shitty line-up

This party should be called 'Welcome To 4 Years Ago'

Grand Finale? More like the nail in the coffen

Posted by Shad0wmaster on Mar-30-2004 07:22:

I'm with Danny on this one...

Where can I begin bitching about this? Let me get right to the point: TAs, I STRONGLY ENCOURAGE YOU TO BOYCOTT THIS PARTY.

Forty fucking dollars? For BK and Dumonde? This is some major fucking bullshit. What a ripoff. I can understand if you charge this kind of money for really big names such as Armin or Marco V, but for BK and Dumonde...it's a ripoff, plain and simple. If it were $25, I'd be there for sure. But forty? Just who do you think you're kidding?!

And yes, this lineup is teh suck. We already know my feelings on Azim and Tazix (see my sig), and the Shy Brothers suck almost as much...in fact, the only good DJ in the main stage lineup is Vlado. And if I don't miss my guess, he's only going to get like half an hour of time on the decks. Vlad is a VERY underrated DJ and I'm extremely disappointed to see him misused in this way. Big thumbs down to Solid.

Seriously...Azim, Tazix AND the Shy Brothers? I get nightmares about lineups like this. Save your money for Zabiela and Way Out West.

DO NOT GO TO THIS PARTY.

Nothing impressive here. I was hoping the 'Grand Finale' would be 'Grand' but no. I will pass.

Sad Sad Sad!!! Im already goin to PvD in Seattle and even then the only reason i would ever go to this party is to see and chat it up with DuMonde again. Last time they were here i had a good time chatting with them and they are really cool.... but 40 bucks... lol... i'd rather meet them outside the party and go for some drinks with them and spend the 40 on a nice dinner. We all know this party will be for the people that know nothing about trance.

wow....
Dont you guys go calling BK weak...I might have to ban every one of you.
Bitch about Dumonde, they will have been to Van 3 times in less than a year..

But do not call BK weak, he is anything but. You either dont like hard house (but this doenst make him weak) or dont know what BK is to the Hard House genre.
BK is wikked. Dont bash him.

/end protective rant

Dude...it's not BK we're bashing. This party is just plain shitty promoting with many, many shitty DJs in the lineup (excepting BK, Dumonde and Vlado). I personally like BK's stuff but there is no way I'm paying 40 bucks to see him spin surrounded by so many hacks.

appology/explanation accepted

Posted by Sean Walsh on Mar-30-2004 18:24:

Yeah BK is quality and I'm sure the ravers here will love him; just not my cup of tea in the slightest. For the "Grand Finale", this is one of the weaker lineups I've ever seen.

Posted by Thierry on Mar-30-2004 19:28:

Just like J_Spot for BK, I'm for Dumonde... you can bash the promoters and the party, but don't bash Dumonde!!! They are fuckin sick sick sick!!!

Posted by Shad0wmaster on Mar-30-2004 20:02:

Yeah, Dumonde are teh pwnage =P Under any other circumstances, I'd see them for sure!

Posted by MAINER on Mar-30-2004 20:37:

riitttteeeee

GRAND FINALE = CHEEEEZZZZEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!

Posted by christofa on Mar-30-2004 20:59:

nothing to get excited over, but i'll probably end up going anyway as my buddies are huge HH fans and possibly for nostalgic reasons as well.

I'm just wondering too if its both guys from dumonde. I remember showing up to the cave when they were here and having to pay more than the advertised price because (as they told me) both of them actually showed up!

Anyway, its not really my style of music, but I know vancouver's rave crowds likes it hard so maybe the vibe will be a little better than usual.
