PvD @ The Rave in Milwaukee, WI, USA 4/18/04

I'm a college student nearby Milwaukee area (www.carthage.edu). We don't get much acts in the US especially around here. There's a nice club in Chicago - Vision (www.visionnightclub.com) - we had Corsten, AvB, etc. there but it's 21 and up and I'm only 20.
First good DJ I will see...EVER!!!
I'll update how the party went when we go there but for now I'll just leave this up to discussion of how much US really sucks for the trance culture area in general. I remember there was a club opening in chicago - Escape, and Benny Benassi mixed. We went and it was awesome but I remember a load of n*g*e*s chanting "hip-hop". I felt embarrassed.

So this is the first live DJ I will go see since Moscow 2 years ago when I saw PPK (I'm Moscow born immigrant).

fyi,... US has a decent following of trance,... head to NYC or Miami and you will find plenty,... your location isnt exactly in a hotbed for trance...

yeah but you gotta understand that not everyday does one get a chance to drive to NYC or Miami, and it'd be nicer for people to be more open minded to other music around here.
when i DJ at mixers/formal all people really want to hear is rap/hiphop. they don't care to experience trance. it's not mainstream so it's not worth it. however i think if MTV started playing it they'd like it...but maybe they'd like it cuz MTV has them all brainwashed and they'd like anything MTV plays...i really don't know

i agree partly,... mtv would help but it would take away the charisma and undergroundness of trance,... mtv isnt the answer, dunno what is but i still feel your pain,... i am a Floridian living in Oklahoma -->talk about your non-trance areas, and it only gets better,.. i move to Kansas in July

I am looking to start a Trance/Dance club in Bent Fork Falls, Montana anyone interested in DJ'ing there? Or How about Konikee Lake, Wisconsin? Figure I can slap some lasers on the mountain faces. Maybe get a Burning Big Foot Man statue going too.

african americans would respect or appreciate the different/culture and genre and make sure they go see something they want
n*g*e*s will purposely crowd up any club and be obnoxious and chant shit like "Hip-hop, hip-hop!!!"
as chris rock put it, there is a difference

fuck mtv. if they touch trance, nothing but the cheesy horeshit will fill the airwaves and then you'd have more people without a clue as to who paul van dyk, ferry corsten/gouryella/moonman/eon, blank & jones, etc... are. although people do already know who dj sammy is, but the stuff mtv played a year and a half ago was downright cheese. that shit made me wanna throw up. as a matter of fact, thinking of sammy's take on "heaven" and "boys of summer" makes me wanna violently dry heave.

Posted by denys envy on Apr-13-2004 05:49:

amen syncro, Sammy is definitely the Cheetos of cheeze
There's alot of local chicago shit that i hate too - Inphinity, Caffeine, and some others which i can't name at the moment.

OHHHHH THIS IS THE TIIIIIMMMEEE OF OUR LIIIVEEESSS!!!
Holy fucking shit I am speechless, let me absorb this for about two days before I say anything.
Paul van Dyk is absolute #1 in the world.

Pics coming soon

Club

Hey Aristronica, Which club did you visit in which you are speechless. The topic of conversation kind of switched throughout this thread. I am in Madison, Wisconsin so I know what you mean with all the Rap shit. I'm starting to become a pretty big trance follower myself, mostly following a lot of ID&T events like Sensation etc. I have begun to follow Armin Van Buurens A State of Trance now too. I love Armin's stuff. I am 16 so I haven't really had a chance to hit up any clubs or anything, but I'd like to go to Miami or NYC and do that sometime in college. Let me know how it went and post some pics bro.

PVD in milwaukee thread

wassup Blu3, the PvD party was at the Rave in Milwaukee. The event was all ages too so you could've came.

The atmosphere wasn't as amazing as the set was. It was like PvD would jerk my brain off 20 different times and then pull off at the right moment and then have me catch up and then go again. Ohh my god it was just amazing listening to the whole thing.
