alright... I just saw the movie and I have two words: holly s#5t
what a hell was that ?!?!?
I mean that thing is disturbing and all over the place
really scary !
I dont know how am I going to go sleep now
my stomach is jumping up and down
If at least Jeniffer O'Connely was completely naked more i would have been far happier
I want to merry her
ok I am gonna go pass out now

Its funny.... a lot of people say that movie is great. I watched it at a friends house and couldn't finish it... so booooorrring! i mean, its different and all, great cinematography or whatever, but i couldn't keep my eyes on the TV! I ended up leaving at one of the scenes where the mom got the phone call to be on the show or something.... really weird stuff...

But hey, not everyone's cup of tea i'd imagine. Glad to hear you enjoyed it?

didn't I tell ya that movie kicks ass? I seriously recommend people to watch this one. I'm so glad I didn't watch it alone because I watched it with a Film and Arts student and he was able to fill me in with a lot of the imagery that I otherwise woud've missed.

For examle, did you catch the scene when Jennifer Conelly became the party girl and the other girl was greasing up a doulbe ended dildo. If you look closely at Jennifer's thigh you will see it was bruised up real bad (meaning she got hammered real good by those bunch of freaks). The girl that was greasing up the double ended dildo looked real trashy which kinda symbolizes how maybe she was just as innocent as Conelly once was and this was the road Conelly was heading into and what she may look like in the future.

It was stuff like that, that was depressing as hell. If you watch the movie a second time you will see a lot of the imagery that you would've missed the first time (actually I wouldn't dare to watch it alone a second time LOL) It's some scary shit.

cause I dont see nothing worth watching except O'Connelly, well maybe with friends if they are realy interested in seeing it

Requeim for a Dream is Darren Aranofsky at his best. The content is undeniably shocking but it keeps u gripped.

Has anyone seen his earlier movie, eqaually as wierd called "Pi" its in black and white and i would recommend it to anyone who liked RFD.

i thought requiem for a dream was amazing. then again i thought pi was amazing when no one else that saw it with me liked it. darren aronofosky is the bomb. he turned down a big contract to direct a few movies including the next batman because he wanted to make requiem for a dream. the title is very appropriate. ellen burstyn's dream to be on television in her red dress, marlon wayans dream to keep his promise to his mother that he's gonna make it big, jared leto and jennifer connolly's dream about a better, simpler life. all come crashing down in flames due to dependency and drug abuse. but underneath it all they are decent people with kind hearts and pained emotions. it's a trip. i like the gritty realism of it with leto's abcess and stuff. call me twisted if you will but i work in a hospital where i see that sh!t for real so it doesn't really bother me. it was sick when he injected himself in the abcess though. that one made my stomach turn. also the music in the movie definitely set the emotion with the strings and dj skratching. awesome!

OK, now I understand why you guys were all hyped about this movie. We just saw it and I'm still amazed.

I like movies that are NOT hollywood. Movies that are kept the director's ideas. This entire movie shocked me at every moment, there was not a scene that lost my attention.

Whoa. I really can't put anymore words to this. If you haven't seen this movie, just give it some of your time. Watch it with an open mind and you'll get more out of it.

And the music!!! God i loved the music.
Damn, i could talk for hours of this movie, its just amazing.

and if you find it disturbing, its because it shows the truth many times we dont want to see. That stuff happends daily, its not some fantasy story.

What's the name of it in spanish? I' tried to look for it with the name in English but no one knew.

Yea that movie was fucked up! I thought it was a good movie to watch though. I dont think I will be able to watch it again any time soon. I thought Pi was sooo much better of a movie!I liked how he brought a lot of the actors from Pi into Requiem for a Dream. Both movies totally stunned me though I am still amazed.

Without a doubt, thats one of the most bizzare movies I've ever seen. After I saw it I never wanted to do drugs again. But I gotta admit it was one unbelievable movie. Another movie I recommend is called "Happiness", now that is one disturbing mother ****** to watch. The one line I remember from rfd is "Ass to Ass", now that's fucked up.

Doesn't that film lure you into a false sense of a security???
but what an ending, it certaintly doesn't make you want to touch heroin ...
but it's the harsh truth, i mean just the beginning bit with jared leto stealing the TV off his mum.
Personally, i think that darren arronofsky spent too much times proving his use with the visual techniques (ghosting and filtering and clipping)
when he just points the camera at the actors, that's when things become much more disturbing and intense (e.g the abcess scene in the car with damon wayans ( who might i add was poorly cast - doesn't have the integrity)
but then again i'm sorry if i come off as elitist
but i work in blockbusters, i study at the BFI (british film institute) i take lessons at luton on film studies, plus i write for a website...
Am i the biggest film buff here....probably

Oh and happiness... man that is dark...especially the whole parent to child conversation at the end..just shows how america is going to hell, even beats american beauty is terms of surburbanite falldown

If you ever have a chance, rent out a movie called Freeway 2 - confessions of a trickbaby....offensive drama at it's best !

What is so disturbing about this movie?

you just got to rent it and watch it. very hard to explain in words trust me. i rented one night when my girlfriend went out with her friends man that movie was wild creepy freaky gives you one of those feelings of uneasyness when its over but i definetly recommend

Excellent film ... Does give you that sick feeling to your stomach, kind of reminded me of Trainspotting.

The movie had the same affect on me...
After i saw it i had a minor DEPRESSION. The person who recommended it to me said it was like "trainspotting", only more intense, which is probably the understatment of the year. One word can describe this movies and it is POWERFULL! This is cinematography at its best! i love the movie it is definetly everything that i watch movies for! It makes all the 1000 shitty movies that i pay to see worth while!
IN my top five for sure. but i wouldn't recomment it if you get grossed out easily of if you r easily scared. (because i recommended it to this chick and she almost got mad @ me)

holy fuck! i just finished watching the director's cut. it's got to be one of the most powerful movies i've ever seen. the last 15 minutes were so intense i could barely watch it. quality movie, very depressing tho.

time for some happy music...

Brilliant movie! Realistic, intense, powerful, depressing...yep, this is definitely one of my favourites. I'll have to watch it again to see the imagery I missed the first time. Amazing soundtrack as well.
I liked Pi too.
