New Virus Tabletop Synth
I just checked the Access site and they are showing a "new" tabletop Virus classic. I checked the comparison chart and it's missing a few things the "C" series has, such as the new Minimoog filter algorithm, the per part EQ, and a few other things.
But it's supposed to be significantly cheaper.
Could some people around here who know the Viruses well, please comment on the differences between it and the "C" series tabletop? Also, Virus experts please comment in general on what you think. Does the absence of the Minimoog filter or EQ matter for "classic" Trance stuff?
Thanks so much!

Okay, so what does the "B" lack that the "C" has, and is the "B" good enough for the classic Virus sounds that are so prevalent in trance?
Thanks!
omg
go check the virus site
Duh, I'm talking about things the specs can't reveal. Or maybe you have to wait 'till you're a Supreme Trance Addict before you get to have a real conversation. Well let's see, I just graduated from Junior Trance Addict to Trance Addict, so I guess that makes me a sophomore. Only a couple hundred posts to go before maybe I can get an answer to this question.
One of the main difference's is that 'C' has 32 poly, while the 'B' Classic has 24 poly. Im glad Access have revived the 'B' as its well cheaper and is a good workhorse.
I think the next logical question is "how competitive of a price will it have?" I'd be interested in a stripped down virus if the price was right.

To me the Virus B is one of the best hardware synth buys. You get the Virus sound and tweakability for very little money. I would buy a Virus B and then when the D comes out, get one of those and just skip the C.
At least that's my plan.
