BT - Remember ...

If a person told you that this was the best EDM track ever made.. would you laugh at them? I think its an awesome track, for sure in top 10, because production is awesome, but I believe its all personal preference.

i wouldn't laugh at them, but i think that there are better tunes out there...

I agree. I like the song, very much to be honest. The lyrics are very good too. But it wouldn't be a number 1 track on my list.

remember is a sweet tune. i wouldn't call it EDM tho

EDM = Electronic Dance Music. Why not? Because of the instruments used?

Amazing track, BT had some awesome collaborations with Jan Johnston, I wish he still had tracks this good today

definitly one of my all time favs - when you look at some of the tracks BT has produced it really makes you wonder why he gets the slating that he does - embracing the sunshine, flaming june and remember are all classic tunes - i've seen people call him cheesy and others saying hes the devil - sure his newer stuff ain't in the same league but I don't quite understand the critisim he recieves!

Sasha's remix of Remember is definitely one of the best ever. Probably not the best ever, but this and his mix of Embracing The Sunshine are pretty special.

BT Vs Sasha - Remember Magnetic North

This is one of my all-time faves!!!

*excited look*

The album version, especially... all 8 minutes of it. Haven't listened to in awhile.

Note the cheeky industrial influence in there... the radio mix also has a cool Spanish-y guitar. It's a real hybrid (no pun intended) of a lot of styles... it's got house, breaks, blah blah blah. Hey, it's got a pretty string section too!

A lot of criticism towards BT is directed at him 'cuz of petty things like jealousy. Make no mistake about it, if he was ugly as a mugwump he'd have more "street cred" but it's because he's a hot guy (and I can admit that) and a real candid personality who SHARES his techniques in addition to being so talented. He really lifted the veil off of the "EDM production secrets" tent and that understandably ticked people off. So what, the guy is generous, he likes to share, and he's off to his next project. He STANDS OUT, unquestionably, whether you like him or not he's hard to ignore.

I have to admit, first time I listened to "Remember" way back, I thought it was crap and I was like... "Who the heck is this BT... using initials for his name... that's pretty pretentious!" Whatever, I looped the tune and kept listening . . . my opinion changed over time.

Most people who dis him have never even met the guy or know him personally -- he comes off as a real nice, maybe TOO nice guy. Even if I didn't like his music and thought it was total fromage (using that term loosely), I'd still think he was an alright human being.

yeah i love this track, the mix by pvd is better. This was one of the first non cheesy stuff i heard back in the day. I got the vinyl ..too bad i sold my turntables so i cant listne to it haha

Posted by Torley Wong on Mar-31-2004 10:51:

Apparently BT and PvD are long-time friends, as are BT and Sasha and so many others... I just find that amazing, DJs who are great friends! I think Tiesto and Corsten are good friends too and don't just work together in the studio from time to time ... ahhh but I digress.

May I ask, why'd ya sell your tables?

it's pretty mint but i'd laugh at them, i dont thin you can really say what is the best tune ever made coz everyones choices are different, but you can alweays say one of the best out of many.

Agreed Ste, that's a wise way to look at it.

Everyone has their own personal preference, I respect that totally

yeh, you probbaly find over years your own fave tune ever will change as you change your own style you listen to. however i dont think you can completely forget about tunes you used to love the most, just put them down the ranks a little.

Posted by Billabong on Mar-31-2004 19:21:

I always laugh at people who make the comment "such and such is my fave song".

There are so many quality songs from many genres that it would be impossible to pick a fave, if you can then music isn't doing very well.

i think sasha's remix is amazing
sounds very, very much like remember magnetic north

because its not very electric nor is it danceable (imo). i think it more like a song then EDM

Posted by Hybrid Junkie on Apr-02-2004 04:15:

I agree with you Ste and billabong, cos everyone has favourites in each genre. My fav. going out and dancing songs are way different to fav. emotional or listening kinda tracks.

However, the album version of Remember is one of my fav tracks easily. Maybe cos it's got really strong emotional ties to an ex, but i can chuck it on full volume in headfones and completely zone out for the entire time. Armageddon could be going on and I wouldn't notice. Those are my favourite type of tracks, well, ..favourite "listening" tracks.

Also Lamb - Heaven, & Gabriel, I don't pay any attention to the rest of the world. It's shut down time.

Halogen vs Bluephaze - On A Bridge, is where it's at too.
