messing around some more - strings

http://rappersfromtheburg.tripod.com/id52.htm

is that ok?

Pretty. Oddly, sounds much like something I'm working on at the moment.

Something sounds wrong with the timing, though. Or that may just be that without any sort of backing rhythm, it's harder to make sense of which notes go where, if you see what I mean.

Could you add in a simple 4-4 kick? (I'm way too exhausted and lazy right now to do it myself). It would be easier for me (though probably not everyone else) to hear how it would sit in a mix.

they are still no strings.. but it sounds better then the last try..

and yes, there are some timing problems..

Posted by skytribe on Apr-01-2004 05:44:

Oh, good. I couldn't tell if I was hearing problems, or making them up in my head.

So.... tired...

definitly better but what's up with the timing on these? get a quantizer...

Posted by TranceSpeeder on Apr-02-2004 01:34:

i have no idea, lol... ile try to work on it...

lol.. fix the timing... it sounds like you were playing this on a keyboard and wasn't too sure what you were going to play or something..

Posted by dj-rob on Apr-02-2004 05:41:

the actual melody sounds a little too basic and standard (or safe) try to bring some original stuff into this, the upper notes seem to be just going up and down an octave..oh yea the timings off

If you're using floops, you have two options.

1) Use the quantizer. In the piano roll, select the note events, and press ctrl-q. this will bring up the quantization dialogue. Fiddle around with the various options until it sounds right.

2) Do it by hand. Open the piano roll, and manually move or delete and repaint the note events, making sure to have snapping on. The simplest is to set the snapping to 'line', but you can get more complex, of course, if you want.

Alternatively, if you're having trouble with either of those, send one of us the flp file, we'll correct it and send it back. I'd strongly suggest doing it yourself, though; best way to learn is by doing

I'll skip the aforementioned details and just talk about the synth.

Sounds soo much more like strings this time, albeit plucked strings.

In you, improvement I see.

isn't this sound is just plucked guiter?

Posted by TranceSpeeder on Apr-03-2004 23:18:

3xOSC, is what i used.

Posted by Dave_Abr on Apr-04-2004 12:42:
