The main thing that is wrong with trance

It pushes emotion onto you, instead of letting you just take the song in and feel what you want. With its faster beat, synths, endless female vocals, long build-ups, and loopy melody's, the producers are telling you what to feel... upbeat upbeat upbeat. They are shoving it down your throats and you are forced to eat it like a kid eating candy. It's like the producers are insulting you.

With music that is more beat-centered (house, prog), you are able to feel what you want. It's a more subjective sound that lets you apply meaning to it.

Some people like to feel it 'slow' and they like prog & house but to some of us (and just cos we dont feel your sounds doesn't make us any less fulfilled or intelligent) like to hear something faster, hell i grew up on a mixture of old skool break, gabber, hardcore, techno, drum&bass etc plus euro & trance eventually, and I do feel it better faster than slower, which as some ppl will agree and some won't, makes my point about preference the answer, not just being more 'l337' cos of what sound is listened to

If you listen to uplifting/anthem trance, then sure, you will get the uplifting feeling.

However, that is only one sub-genre of trance.

If you want a change, here's an idea, LISTEN TO A DIFFERENT KIND OF TRANCE!!!!

Listen to some psy-trance, hard trance, tech trance etc.....that has a darker, harder feel...............

You're missing the point - it's more about how the producers try to make you feel a certain way, not all producers try to make you feel good.

As was mentioned above, music can't tell you how to feel. It's up to you on how to interpret it....although I think that some music suggests to varying degrees how you should feel.
