Oceanlab - Satellite (Fatboy Remix)
Been ages since I've posted anything in here. This is the only piece of music that I've been able to finish off since I went in the Navy.
I didn't spend as much time as usual on it, so it's nothing new and groundbreaking in any sense, but I think it turned out pretty good
It's 192 kbps, but I only made a (pretty long) clip since I don't know the legalities of posting the full song.
Comments are very welcome

Jssda, d var lenge siden d ja
Hvor blei d forresten av Fresh Fromage med vokal?
On topic:
Very nice remix Fatty
I'm not on my usual pc with headphones, but i really liked this one
very good remix
nice melodies there
hehe, heavy bassline as usual.. it's a bit too loud though, it's all i can hear in some places.
anyway, the break is wicked!!
well i fucking love this
any chance you can get me this and rebound so i can play them out next thursday?
great stuff as usual tho matey and not your trance by numbers tune either
good effort
Brilliant!
However the melody sounds a hell of a lot like 'Fresh Fromage' !
good to see you back !
Post the full version Fats !
I did & nobody complained !
First of all...
The way you warped the vocals in places like 1:55 and 3:12 sounds uber cool!
Living up to your name... your synths are definately phat as usual as can be expected from fatboy
Basically my take on this track is
melody (even though i'm not a huge fan of vocal trance) :
9.5/10
synths:
10/10
bass (a tad bit muddy but has a retro-kinda feel to me and sounds cool) :
8/10
mastering/mixing/overall sound (to my ears, it feels like it could use some more dynamics) :
7/10
Just a bit on the last point... I think your track sounds good as it is but I like a more thumpier track and I think it could use some more dynamics in the main section of your track with all the beats/bass/synths/vocals...
Also... finally... like the unique kinda retro feel to it... props
cool, the kick is bit low though
but nice melodies!
Thanks for the comments guys
netroM: vokal versjonen av FF er brent ut p en cd et eller annet sted. Jeg sender en pm hvis jeg finner den.
TOR: hehe, I guess I like em big
Luke: that should be no problem, check pm
Bren: about the melody, I said it wasn't anything groundbreaking
Seriously though, I thought that chord progression suited the vocals so I just went with it
kewlness: thanks for that long review
I agree that the bass is a bit too muddy. I had a hard time getting it right, and in the end I just had to settle for what I had. I also agree about the dynamics. I went abit overboard with the compressors
Massive84: I also wanted the kick a bit higher, but it interfered too much with the bass and I didn't have time to change everything around. Thanks for the advice
Peace
Very impressive track. Is it possible to get a 192kbps full version to play on my show on trancesphere?

awesome stuff man!
Thanks for the comments guys!
extalin: it's cool that you pointed out some specific parts that I decided to have in this remix right from the start
moore: check pm
awesome track, at some parts the vocals sorta lose presence. cool synths and nice atmospheric elements.
overall an awesome remix and does deserve playtime on trancesphere
good stuff!
really nice remix man
Really good remix I think, but I would have expected no less from you. Of course, it's miles better than the original.
It's packed with power and drive, which I love in a trance track. It sometimes makes me forget a track is no less than 10 mins long
Is the remix finished though? I would love to hear it as a whole when done...
Cheers,
Wim

jeg har lyst til dra i militret n!
very good remix; your prods are rare, so thanks for the present.
quality production, very powerful; you make a great use of the nice vocals. i like a lot the main melody too... you did a great job, congrats.
cant give you much feedback on technicalities, but youve got enough of that here anyway.
definitely love the distorted/filtered synths, makes the whole thing very dramatic. also like the smooth melodies.
im very confused about the volume levels though...
is it possible to get a full version of this? The preview sounded soooo good.
VERY Good REMIX!
This will be aired on my radio show soon!
hey fatboy,
i already mailed you once about the plummet-damaged remix track you did, about how much i liked it. Again this is very nice sounding.
Do you have any productions of your own?
Would love to hear them!
