Smiley DJ reliability of numark axis 9's

hi, i'm new to forums, so here goes. I am thinking of buying a pair of numarks axis 9's, but i dont know how reliable they are, as i have read the 8's have been quite unreliable. Help. Feedback both good and bad would be appreciated.

Posted by DannyO on Apr-05-2004 08:08:

I've heard there quite a air bit better than the 8s, thats all, sorry I can't be of more help, but somebody here will know for sure.

Posted by DJ Tranz on Apr-05-2004 13:57:

at the price point that they are, prolly the best ones to buy.

if you're in no hurry, save up and get either Denon DN-S3000 or Pioneer CDJ800(unfortunately rebate period is over)

Cheers...

numark axis 9's

anybody else got any feedback on numark axis 9's. i'm in a dillema, as i'm torn between the numarks and the denon 3000's. Numark look like they have more cool features, except the sampler, of which i could get a cheaper 3rd deck, as i have a 3 channel vestax mixer. i dont want to play in clubs, just have fun with my mates. Feed back would be very helpful.

pretty large jump from Axis 9's to DN-S3000. Huge difference is that dn-s3000 reads mp3 encoded cds and has a spinning platter wheel for that tru-vinyl feel, seemless loops in audio or mp3 format, and tons more, see: http://www.djmart.com/dednmptu.html

to compare to dn-s3000, to be fair, compare it to Numark's newest awesome table top tru cd dj turntable, the CDX1, see: http://www.djmart.com/nucdtatopcdp.html

Cheers...

315$-550$

from decks.co.uk you can get the axis 9 for 249.00 each and the S3000 for 445.00
now that's 196euros! which is a lot of money

that's a lot of money difference IMO... but as you like mate

Now that I see this , I see no reason why to invest more money if you're only for fun...the axis 9 is good enough to have fun...(and I'm using them not for fun)

numark axis 9's abilities

i think i will get the numarks, i change my mind like the wind. Could someone explain what u can do with features on the axis 9's, such as the 2 loops and hot starts. with the hot starts does it mean that u can start a bit of a song from any point at the press of a button, help required. Also the buttons look placticie, are the axis 9's a solid unit?

Numark CDX1: Table Top CD/MP3 Player With High Torque Active Wheel

CD spinning, mixing and scratching just took a turn for the better! The Numark CDX1 is a table top CD player with an ultra-high torque motorized 12 platter that holds a vinyl record for the ultimate in vinyl scratch feel. There is extensive cue store/recall with multiple sets for each CD. The CDX1 also incorporates many beat-synched digital effects such as sonar, slide, filter, echo and chop. Effects can be manipulated with a separate control wheel interface. The CDX1 offers a pitch slider programmable up to 100% pitch control, as well as a 100% key lock. The CDX1 is fully MP3 compatible. All functions, like scratching and looping, that can be done with regular CDs also work with MP3s. MP3 song titles appear on the CDX1's VFD matrix display. Detailed and bright, the VFD display can be toggled among four modes to provide detailed information, including BPM, time, cue points, and advanced wave display. The CDX1 features a fast, slot-load CD transport and music can continue playing from the internal buffer even after the CD is ejected.

numark 9's

hey dj tranz, hav u mixed with the numark axis 9's, i know u suggested the denon 3000, of which is still an option, but i only want to dj for fun, in my bedroom and at mates parties. could u explain in simple terms what the 2 seamless loops will do, 3 hot stutter starts, 3000 cue points in memory and other jargon. Also whats the honest feedback on the 9's reading cdr's that are burned at fast speeds, i only ask because all my music is burned at 16 speed. thanks jason.

I burned my cd's at X48 and it works fine...its a good cd player ... really good for its price - don't be afraid getting some crappy poo cd player...
sorry that I just don't know how to explain you how the sameless loop works but I'm sure there's other people on this board who got the axis9 and can explain ...

Cheers,

/m0sh

Hi!

I've got the Axis 9-CR (for 526 each) and they are great! The hotstarts are just like 3 cuepoints. The loop-function works very good. This is because it works with the beatkeeper: todays best bpm counter on the market on cd-players. It plays cd-rs at 16x speed, but I'll advise you not to do that: above 4x spreed, the recorder will make mistakes in your cd! (and you don't hear that).

I don't know man .. I have two DN-S3000s and absolutely love em. They look and feel professional. I looked and played with an Axis 9 at a local store and it totally felt like a cheese plastic toy (sorry guys -- not trying to be mean to those of you who have axis9s). You get what you pay for .. In a low to mid $300 range, I guess X9 is your best bet. If I were you, Id save a little more and spend $550 for DN-S3000 but thats just me
