pa speakers
just wondering what you guys (and gals) think of the mackie srm450 to use for PA speakers? i dont play many gigs so they will be in my home most of the time. which is kind of good because i use my home theater speakers now when I spin and they cant keep up at higher volumes. im wondering what kind of bass I can expect from these though... if i will need like the matching 15" sub...
I have owned a pair for years...
I used to mobile DJ with them, did weddings, company parties for up to 400 people no problem. For school dances I just added a couple powered yorkville subs and it was fine.
Buy them.
thats good to hear... alot of people were telling me they were really only good for monitors and i should get like the sr1530's instead.
the 1530's are lacking. quite a bit lacking, especially for a three-way.
The SRM450's are great speakers. not horribly loud or good for big venues, but sound VERY good. very clean speaker.
I use C300's myself for houseparties. They are the same basic speaker as the SRM450, just no internal amp.
In the SRM450/C300's price/size/weight class, they are awesome performers.
those are too above my budget. Do you know of any that can compare in quality for a lower price-hopefully no more than 800 for a pair.
