Big List 'o Questions
Ok, to save the SPAM, I'm going to post a shitload of questions I have in this thread. Answer whatever ones you wish.
1. What do you mean when you refer to a label?
2. Does Behringer have good quality mixers?
3. Would you recommend buying used equipment on eBay?
4. Are there any other good DJ equipment distributors other than DJ Mart?
5. Are there any easy ways to learn how to beatmatch effectively, or is practice still the best and most effective way?
6. How can I help to convince my school that DJ's aren't people who bring along a CD player and play songs one by one?
I think those have all been covered.

1. The term label can refer to either a record label which releases tracks or the sticker on the vinyl record that tells you the song titles/authors
2. I have a DJX700 but would prefer something else. Sound quality on this mixer is not very clean. There are plenty mixers out there for the same amount of money that have better sound quality
3. No experience with EBAY
4. There are plenty... pssl.com, musciansfriend.com the list goes on and on
5. Ok now is a good time to use the search button
6. Can't help u there lol
2. of all the behringer mixers i have read fewer complaints about the VMX 200/ 300. there are certainly plenty of alternatives to behringer mixers but some people dont mind them.
3. ebay....... sure. if its a good deal go for it. check out the person's rating and ask questions if you need to. use your head. i've bought a few things off of ebay without any problems.
4. pssl.com, audiolines.com, etc. if you can get DJ Tranz to hook you up at DJ Mart, and match or beat other places prices thats probably the way to go, but to answer your question..... there are plenty of other places.
5. of course you have to practice. and you have to practice for a long time. the whole time you have go be buying music and putting up with your shitty beatmatching until you someday start to get better, and better, and......
6. dude, that guy that plays music at your school IS a DJ. guys that play weddings, and private parties are DJs. The dude (or lady) on the Radio is a DJ. they arent club DJs. they arent the type of DJs that most (or all) of us in here are or aspire to be but they are DJs. your junior high school or whatever does not want to book a club dj to play at the spring fling or the junior semi-formal. it wouldnt work. most people in high school/ jr. high school dont want to listen to a club dj spin 3 or 4 hours of trance at a dance. they play a whole spectrum of music, because they are trying to appeal to the whole crowd of people.
