For those of you who doubted Oakie...

Find a copy of his performance this past weekend at The Avalon LA. He mixed almost without stopping. I've never seen him so into his set, it was insane. New style, new tunes, and seemless... reminded me of Transport!

Okaenfold is still the man. Look, anyway you paint it he's the same DJ with the same skillz just different trax. This man brought Harmonic mixing to the forefront and perfected musical manipulation. It's hard to spin a seemless set and drop the perfect tune in key every time. Not only does he do this but he knows exactly what effect the keys of his selections will hold over his crowds. That's why he sounds spot on.
Now some of you may not like the direction his style has taken, and I'll admit that 02-03 felt a bit sloppy at times, (his area 1 @ Coachella 02 bit), but I'm telling you, the man is back.
His show at the Avalon was onslaught after onslaught of hypnotic dance grooves mixed to perfection. I wish I did have a track list or better yet a recording. Let me know if you guys find one!

ur damn rite man, finally someone who appreciates him as much as i do. da last time i saw him was at avalon in NYC on november 26th and it was bangin... hes still my favorite DJ and always will be and im lookin forward to seeing him in Ibiza this summer

and that was said to me by a senior dutch Producer/DJ which his name i will not mention on a post (maybe on a pm), and its not Tiesto.
the guy told me that he only goes in the studio when its time to put his name on the record, and that he doesnt even know what buttons to push !!! and this person is way way better , so i dont think he was lyting

but his recent sets have REALLY impressed me.
i thought i was abandoning him when i last saw him (sep'03)
but he's back to his old self....hopefully it'll stay that way

oakenfold absolutely sucked when I saw him on new years for Giant's "Giant Venture 2004" in Los Angeles at the Bonaventure Hotel. Oakey's mixing was horrible. He trainwrecked like 2 times. He spun crap like Benny Benassi "Satisfaction." The whole 3 hours he kept doing that stupid 'god pose'.

God, what is it with you people. So quick to criticize everything, especially Oakenfold. If he is coming back and changing his crappy attitude(and hopefully the haircut), then please, give him a chance.

I saw him @ Icon in Orlando. He wasn't that bad at all.
