Paul van Dyk @ Club Decadence, Greece (05-APR-2004)!!!
Greetings to all the TAs!
As everyone in this thread, I will just describe the party...
Well, PvD eventually came to Greece (and yes, that was the second time!!!) @ Club Decadence, Thessaloniki, Greece! The whole Greek VANDIT fan club was there... The atmosphere was amazing!
Let's take things from the beginning; PvD's official site was reffering to a 2 hour liveset, from 01:00-03:00... But that was not enough... 3 hours of continuous raping was the result!
YES, we wanted more and more and more! We could not get enough! PvD got up on the stage @ 00:55... Every single person in the club lifted his hands at that moment and started shouting. The resident DJ of the club tried to frustrate us by not getting off stage so that PvD would take his position
But we were decided to bring him, and the whole club down... So it began... PvD was on the decks, and the vinyls were spinning...
Everyone in the club was in a good mood and prepared to party and to let all the excitement out of himself! Our only problem was that the club had reached capacity, maybe overcrowded for some moments... And there was almost no ventilation! Heat was our only enemy, but we would not give up! We would dance all night long! (as we did
) This set was not a typical PvD set. It was something different... more banging!
We all liked it! Well, he played lots of his releases from the "Reflections" album, but they were good, very good! Time was passing by... and the clock indicated 03:00 before we understood it. Every single person was wet as if he came out of the shower... but it was sweat and not clean water. The ventilation of the club was not an issue that the owners gave the attention needed!
Anyway, 03:00 and PvD was about to leave... and go where?
We managed to keep him on stage for 1 more hour, though he wanted to give it up @ 03:30. But the excitement we had, was sucessfully transmitted to him and I believe that this was what made him stay for 30 more minutes! He could not stay more (although he and us wanted to keep on clubbing...) because of the Greek law; all the nightclubs must close @ 04:00 from Monday to Thursday
And that was it, the moment we all waited for; the signing of flyers
PvD signed almost 100 of them, and some vinyls (2 of which are mine!
). He was tired, exhausted, but he won't give up and won't get pissed off from signing!
This night will surely be one to remember for all of the people that were in the club... for all the people of Greece... as it was on 07-SEPT-2002 that PvD visited us again!
I managed to pass through the internet that liveset with a self release and much support by all of you.
For this time, the only thing that i have is...

3 HOURS OF VIDEO AND 50+ PHOTOS TAKEN WITH A DIGICAM!!!
Give me a couple of weeks and you will have the video! (I only have the photos, so if anyone is interested drop me a line to my e-mail and we can work things out!)
That's all from me, I am sure that some Greek TAs from this forum were there, so i would really like to see a comment from them for this night!
P.S: I hope that you will take the time and read the review from the beginning to its end, even if it seems really big!
Good work Steve!
Cool, Thanks for putting us there for a few seconds. I wish I had been there!! Thessaloniki is a place that would be amazing to visit. ( I looked up a web site about it when I read PvD would be playing there
) I hope he visits you guys more often, and maybe I'll make it over there to experience
Honestly, it was an amazing night! I wish that every fan of PvD was there!
I cannot promise that I will do it, but I will try, to find and release the liveset as I did with PvD - Live @ energy dance festival, Greece 07-sept-2002!
Consider the release of the video almost done !
peterdjsgirl : we would be glad to see anyone that has the same taste in music as we do!
Why Thank you Dj-Steve
I would really like to see some "pure clubbers" to Greece!
It's amazing what's happening abroad at events as such!
