I think none of you are getting laid lately, because this section has turned into quite the bitchfest, with nothing being good enough for anybody. Im kinda sick of seeing threads jacked with BS about it repeatedly, so heres my solution

you wanna bitch, moan, vent, piss on somebody, express your non constructive negativity, or anything like that, do it in here.
If this works (and I hope it will) Ill make it sticky.

Constructive criticism is still allowed, but I think its been a while since Ive seen that in here.

Oh I have two questions for you j_spot. How come we are not allowed to voice our opinions in the promotion threads? So it's ok to post positive opinions, but when it comes to negative opinions we have to bitch here? I don't understand why it's like that...

NightCreature...read the promotion threads more carefully. Even I agree that it's gone way beyond voicing opinions...they've almost turned into full-scale flame wars. I think it was pretty much my fault for starting the Anti Azim & Tazix alliance =P Ah well, I have no regrets about that. But people really have taken the bitching about shows to an extreme...

A complaint about not being allowed to complain freely...nice.

I think j is just trying to keep threads clean. When a promoter places a thread to communicate an event, replies to this thread should be questions about the event, indications of who will be going, and if really warranted, a bit of constructive criticism.

That's my take, j will clarify if I'm off base.

I guess I should complain about something....hmmm...I hate the new plastic packaging on the straws at 7-Eleven...such a pain in the ass...c'mon, it's supposed to be a "convenient" store.

I think it's fine to be negative, but to keep posting more and more seems a bit much. Say your thing once, and don't bump it anymore :P

Well, the reason why this is done is profit. That's what pisses me off about Twisted. The Twisted guys have good parties. Take for instance AVB and A&B party that is happening on the 10th. But their GRAND FINALE sux, and this one is being thrown just for profit, more so than the music. And I can't see why TAs should support their GRAND FINALE. I have the right to be upset and I can voice my opinion about how I feel about all this without being told to fuck off and write how I feel in this thread. It upsets me greatly to hear that j_spot is siding with Twisted and abandoning the party goers.

Profit is allowed to be a motive. You know, they have to make thier money too. Its not up to you to decide who they book as their DJs and when they do it. You can voice your displeasure about it, but not how you guys have gone about it. It looks like you are a bunch of whiney bitches, with a massive chip on your shoulder

I'm pretty sure this is about my bitching in the "TA's... you'll love what we have next..." thread.

I have a problem with promoters coming on TA to pimp parties with NO details. If you cant tell me a date or headliners, I dont give a fuck about your party. I understand that promoters want to make money, and they want to promote their party, but promoting a party with no details months in advance is stupid. There's marketing, and then there's blowing hot air. So my suggestion for promoters: unless you have enough info to put your party on the Big city master list thread, wait till you can actually talk about your party without the secrecy.

...well the only thing I have to bitch about is that I want to get booked and so far I have been unsuccesfull. It seems like promoters here in Vancouver will only give gigs to their budies (for the most part). Grrr...

Your suspicion is correct, the big promoters here only DO book their friends. Many of the city's most successful DJs are successful because they're in bed with Azim.

You gots to go to the smaller promoters. There are a lot of classy, lesser known ones in this city...PH1 is one of the best, Danny is also a good promoter.

I am pissed at how Twisted is all about profit. Their complete disregard for human life to get even more profit pisses me even more off. At the AVB and A&B party they sold out all their bottled water completely, and the taps in the bathrooms had water intentionally turned off to increase sales. Because there was no bottled water and there was no tap water some people could have been dehydrated. And considering that many of the folks at this party were under the influence of E, speed, or some other drug I was thinking that someone was going to dehydrate and die.

I mean having a place with bathrooms and no running water, isnt that a health code violation

I could understand if they had the taps set to hot...that would be ok, but no water at all..thats nasty

You're dead wrong about the water. The bathroom water is shut off to keep the bathrooms from getting overcrowded. All Plaza raves have free sinks which run very cold water all night, outside near the smoking area, so that you can refill anytime. I'm pretty sure it's illegal to not provide ANY water source.
