Japanese and Koreans kidnapped in Iraq.

"Aljazeera television has aired a videotape showing three Japanese citizens captured by a previously unknown Iraqi group that vowed to kill them if Tokyo does not withdraw its troops from Iraq.
One of the hostages being held by the Saraya al-Mujahadin is a woman, the television said on Thursday.
The Qatar-based television aired a soundless video of the trio and their passports, adding that an accompanying statement had given Tokyo three days to meet its demands.
Aljazeera read a statement which it said the group addressed to "the friendly people of Japan".
"We are the sons of Muslim Iraqi people. We were friends and on good terms. Why did you betray us and support the US forces which have violated our soil, our sacred places and land and shed the blood of our children? It is unclear where the hostages are being held.
It is time to retaliate. Three of your nationals are now in our custody and you have either to withdraw or we will burn them alive. The time limit is three days from the date of broadcasting the videotape," said the statement. Japan's NHK television identified them as two journalists and an aid worker. The captives were named as as Noriaki Imai, Soichiro Koriyama and Nahoko Takato. Imai, an aid worker, had left for Iraq on 1 April, NHK reported."
----- These people who kidnapped civilians must surely fail to realize that in no way will Japan or Korea pull out their troops. Maybe they would like to build up domestic pressure on the two governments but no way can I see the troops just being withdrawn. Moreover though why are Korean pastors in Iraq in the first place and also kidnapping aid workers and journalists and threatening to burn them alive, that's pretty low down the barrel.
Who here in a strange way wants to see Japan get really pissed off.

apparently the Koreans were missionary aid workers and were able to be set free, have a feeling the same will happen with the three Japanese we shall see.
Japan sent a battalion of engineers to rebuild water and power facilities. Similar to our Army Corps of Engineers but more hi-tech. Japan made a point, from the outset, to the entire world that they were not there in a "combat" capacity.
These cats that kidnapped civilians are real winners, d**kless geniuses.
News reports now indicate that the Japanese were peace activists who were in Iraq investigating the use of depleted uranium in the war. Somewhat ironic that they're now being held hostage by the violent resistance...
That sucks for them. I guess those "peace activists" will have to learn a horrible lesson about how you cannot deal with evil people with "peacefull means".
strange that the Koreans (who have now been released) and the Japanese get news coverage, but the two arab israelis who were also kidnapped get no coverage...

Japanese are sending over an kidnap recovery team...

what brave warriors these individuals behind the kidnappings must be, more like morons. How hard is it to kidnap journalists, one of whom was a peace activist, along with an aid worker and put knives and swords to their throats while shouting allah-akbar. These people are the least common denominator of Iraqi society. Whether the U.S. is there now or not aid workers would be there trying to help the Iraqis who need it. I hope they have the guts to let these people go seeing that Japanese troops aren't even there in Iraq to fight them in the first place but to reconstruct parts of the nation. Shame on these cowards, go fight the U.S. troops directly they have guns.
Funny how theres a big uproar when they get kidnapped.
If that was US civilians it would be: they deserved it and
that's what 15 years of brainwashing gets.
Maybe they're just too stupid and dont realize they are not americans?
Do you think they could tell the difference between english and japanese?
Release Godzilla and Mothra already. They'll take care of bidness.
This is a perfect example of the type of enemy America is facing in our current war on terrorism.
I hope the seals rescue these Japanese and shoot their captors with bullets soaked in pigs blood (which I've been told they are using).
BTW, the terrorist said that they will set these Japanese "on fire". Not just kill, like the liberal media is reporting, but "set on fire". Funny how the liberal media downplays it.
Another item to note, Americans might start dropping dead pigs on terrorist compounds.

| Originally posted by DigiNut Wow, I seem to be seeing a pattern with you... so violence on innocent civilians from another country who were trying to HELP them was okay, because a totally different army in a totally different capacity invaded? Right... I guess if you can't fight the real army, might as well take out your anger on a couple of human punching bags and use it as a threat. |
