cell phones in the bay area?

so i have verizon but i am mad at them and thinking about switching. i currently live between san francisco and san jose and i get generally good reception but i am going to start working in vacaville and i have been finding that my cell phone reception on route 80 is crappy. is this the case with all carriers or is there another wireless provider who would have better service for my area?

chances are your gonna get even worse quality stuff if you switch
especially if you switch to a GSM phone

hmmm... i do like verizon. my issue is that i have a new jersey number and i actually have to go to new jersey if i want to get customer service in one of their stores. and i think that is a load of crap. i mean, it's like they think people dont move around in this country or something...

Just stay away from AT&T in this area.

I have tried Sprint, AT&T, and T-Mobile. Sprint and T-Mobile (which shares the Cingular network) have all be very good to me...AT&T's reception was, simply put, shit in a lot of areas...

Only reason I left Sprint is I lost my phone is and they would not give me a new one at any type of discount, so it was cheaper for me to leave them.

i have verizon and they allowed me to switch area codes from GA to FL no questions asked and for free and this was in Tampa after i moved back from GA,... you might have talked to the wrong people

btw, Bucs still kick the Eagles ass!!

really? at&t has been nothing but great for me since i switched in january

cingular bought at&t so i would think they would all be the same now.

yeah but those are both in the southern marketing region. one of my issues is that they cant even access my account because i am not in the eastern region anymore. it is really fucking ridiculous. the other thing is, i dont want to change my area code at all. i just need maintenance on my phone and stuff.
