Who is your favourite Messiah?

Messiah like characters are running rampant through our culture I'd like to know who your favourite one is and why?

Some suggestions to get your mind on track in the movies includes ... Dune, Matrix, Dark City, Akira

In TV, Babylon 5, Deep Space 9

and you can even find them in books, the most obvious option being
Illusions : The Adventures of a Reluctant Messiah

So whose your favourite and why (and feel free to come up with your own not on my limited list)

By the way, does anyone know the proper plural for the word "Messiah?" My dictionary does not appear to list a plural form.

I don't think there are any religions that subscribe to the idea of multiple messiahs. In its defenition it only allows for one.
