-- why don't trance producers get more credit?
why don't trance producers get more credit?
everybody knows who djs that spin trance are such as tiesto, sasha, etc. etc. but what about the people that actually produce alot of the songs they spin such as breeder, peace division, slacker, medway etc. etc. unless you are a trance addict i doubt anybody knows who these people are
Most likely because of exposure. You see the DJ spin infront of you, selecting tracks, working the crowd etc... For producers you just hear their work among one of many tunes selected by the DJ.

Disco Stu your novelty has worn off
I would broaden it to say that producers/songwriters rarely get much credit no matter what kind of music it is. I bet you couldn't tell me who produced and wrote the latest britney spears track, but you know its performer.
It's all about who gets the exposure.
I would say the more involved a person is within the scene the more attention they pay to the producers behind the music that djs spin. Just look at the following Luke Chable has gained in this forum for instance. Ask anyone who isn't all too active in the scene and only listens to this music while clubbing who he is and they'll likely give you a cross-eyed look.
...Although that isn't the best example, given that Chable himself is producing a DJ mix for Release Records this summer.
i don't know breeder, peace division, slacker, medway...
could you tell me some nice songs of them?
